Since conceding the third, Schalke are now even further from overturning a half-time deficit for the first time this season. So far, they've suffered eight defeats and two draws in such situations.

A completely crazy first half has come to an end. After Karman's brilliant opener, everything went wrong for Schalke. Fürth equalised immediately, then there was a penalty which Karius saved, but after the second rebound, he still had to pick the ball out of the net. To make matters worse, the keeper seems to have suffered a serious injury afterwards and was replaced by Heekeren.

Klaus gets into the penalty area, Karius tries to save and injures his right leg in the process. The keeper is receiving treatment, but it doesn't look good.

After the crazy first half, there's a substantial amount of stoppage time.

The visitors are now finding more space again. Karaman retrieves the ball in his own penalty area, but Fürth close down well.

Schalke attack once again, but Aydin and Ba get in each other's way during a cross to the edge of the penalty area. The former stumbles, and the situation fizzles out.

A wild first half in Fürth, with three goals, two VAR checks, a missed penalty, plus a shot off the post for Fürth. Can Schalke get a foothold in the match before half-time? The home side are now clearly in the ascendency.

And he awards the goal. Fürth takes the lead have turned this game around. The replays suggest that Karius didn't have a firm grip on Srbeny's rebound, meaning there was no foul by Consbruch.

Fürth are pressing Schalke's playmaker Seguin, so despite having a lot of possession, there's currently a lack of threat going forward. Fürth are waiting for Schalke to make mistakes and then quickly counter-attack. However, Hrgota's pass to Massimo is too long this time.

The visitors have been the better team so far, both with and without the ball. However, Fürth look more dangerous when they get into the final third.

It's noticeable that Schalke keep getting to the byline byt are making far too little of these positions. Several low crosses have bounced off Fürth players.

Up front, Ba's cross doesn't reach its target. Fürth switch play, but then get stopped by Sánchez, who remains vigilant at the centre circle. An important intervention by the young defender.

Schalke's top scorer (13 goals this season) is back in the squad for the first time since 1 February. The striker had recently been sidelined with a muscle injury.

The reverse fixture was spectacular, with Massimo's brace putting Fürth on course for their 4-3 victory. Perhaps it's that reason why he's starting for the first time since late January.

The visitors make one change compared to the 2-1 home defeat against Hannover. Felipe Sánchez starts in place of the suspended Marcin Kamiński, making his first start since Matchday 10 (the reverse fixture against Fürth, where he was sent off with a second yellow card).

For the home side, Jan Siewert makes three changes compared to the 3-0 loss in the Franconian derby against Nuremberg. Jomaine Consbruch, Roberto Massimo and Dennis Srbeny start in place of the injured Julian Green, while Marco John and Noel Futkeu both drop to the bench.

Tobias Mohr played his first 36 matches in the Bundesliga 2 for Fürth (five goals), Paul Seguin was promoted to the Bundesliga with Fürth in 2021 and relegated again the following year (ten goals in 77 second-tier matches and no goals in 27 Bundesliga matches for the Franconians).

Fürth have scored at least two goals in each of their five Bundesliga 2 encounters against Schalke. In the first leg match, the Cloverleaves won 4-3 away at the Royal Blues.

Schalke have only played as many Bundesliga 2 matches against Hamburg without winning. Their last competitive victory against Fürth came in 2012 under coach Huub Stevens in the Bundesliga, winning 2-0 at the Ronhof thanks to goals from Julian Draxler and Lewis Holtby.

Greuther Fürth have never lost to Schalke in the Bundesliga 2 (three wins, two draws). The Cloverleaves are unbeaten against no other current Bundesliga 2 team.
