Two changes for Bochum too

Thomas Letsch has likewise shuffled his team in two positions following last week's defeat by Freiburg. Christopher Antwi-Adjei and Gonçalo Paciência drop to the bench, with Philipp Förster and Moritz Broschinski starting instead - the latter is making his starting debut in the Bundesliga following 15 appearances as a substitute.

More on those teams

Mainz boss Bo Svensson has made two changes to his side: Maxim Leitsch and Karim Onisiwo both come in for Jae-sung Lee and Edimilson Fernandes, who had each started every game so far this term. Bochum won't be pleased to see Onisiwo starting, as the Austrian forward scored five times against them last season!

Letsch's view on Mainz

"We've made similar starts to the season. Mainz possess a real aerial threat, especially in attack, but we can't make the mistake of reducing them just to that. We need to be aggressive and play with intensity, and channel the atmosphere in the stadium, like we did against Dortmund and for 60 minutes against Frankfurt. I want every fan to get behind us from the start."
camera-photo

Svensson's view on Bochum

"It's an important game. We need to get a result. Bochum have put in some very good defensive performances in the last few games. They also deserved their point in Leipzig. They play solidly as a team. They're physically strong and very experienced. Thomas Letsch has a clear plan of what he wants his players to do."

Winless and porous

Bochum and Mainz are the only teams still without a win this Bundesliga season. The 05ers have the joint-worst defence (22 goals conceded, along with Darmstadt). Bochum are next on that list (21).
