Bakker almost adds a third but Sommer saves to deny the hosts. The referee then blows for full time! Leverkusen have taken a huge scalp, with Xabi Alonso masterminding a win against his former club. Bayern go into the international break in second place in the standings, a point behind Borussia Dortmund. Palacios scoring twice from the penalty spot has brought victory to Leverkusen.
De Ligt heads wide
Ooooh, De Ligt rises and heads narrowly wide. Hradecky likely had that covered but home nerves were jangling for a moment.
Leverkusen almost there
Hincapie slashes wide after racing into the Bayern area. This game looks done.
Time added on

Hradecky the home hero
A super double stop from Hradecky to deny Sane and then Davies as Bayern swarm the Leverkusen goal.
Gnabry cuts inside Kossounou and whacks a shot at the target. Hradecky parries that one out and the Leverkusen fans cheer like they've just scored.
Hlozek and Bakker are into the action for Leverkusen with Adli and Wirtz making way.
Hincapie gets himself into a little bother by the corner flag and is shown a yellow by the ref.
The hosts lead but can they add another to kill this game off?
More for Bayer?
Bayer in front
Palacios finds the corner from the penalty spot and Leverkusen lead!
Amazing! Penalty B04
It's happened again! Adli's card has been rescinded and Bayer are awarded a penalty! What drama! Upamecano is shown a yellow.
Adli is booked for diving after Upamecano slides in. Or is he? The referee is called to check this.
Situation No penalty
Brilliant from Musiala who jinks and twists and turns on the edge of the Bayer area before playing a one-two with Gnabry and poking inches past the far post. What a goal that would have bee.
Demirbay off target
Demirbay wafts the subsequent free kick over the crossbar.
Stanisic sweeps Diaby's leg with Leverkusen in full, counter-attacking flow. Free kick in an interesting position for the Werkself.
Bayer shot kings
Leverkusen have scored for the 14th time in the first 15 minutes of a second half this season. A Bundesliga best in 2022/23.
The man who gave away the penalty, Benjamin Pavard, has been replaced by Stanisic.
Hosts on terms
After all of that drama, Palacios keeps his cool and sends Sommer the wrong way to bring the teams level.
So, Adli goes down inside the area and the referee thinks the Leverkusen man has fallen a little too easily. A yellow card is shown to Adli, who is furious. The ref is called to take a look at this as it appears that Pavard stepped onto Adli's heel. Indeed he did. Yellow card rescinded, penalty to Leverkusen.
Situation No penalty
Bayern are looking solid now as they fizz the ball around the park. The visitors have stepped up a gear. Sane fires one over the top.
Bayern get us back underway and the visitors have made a double swap: Musiala and Coman are on for Müller and mane.
An interesting opening 45 minutes ends in Bayern's favour thanks to Joshua Kimmich's deflected strike. As things stand, the defending Bundesliga champions are headed back to the top of the standings. Plenty of action still to come.
Time added on
A promising Bayern attack ends when Müller drags Palacios to the ground. We'll have two minutes of added time at the BayArena.
Pavard leaves one on Palacios and the Bayern defender is heading straight into the ref's notebook.
Moussa Diaby Joshua Kimmich
Frimpong sees yellow
The Leverkusen man clatters into De Ligt and both fall in a heap. When Frimpong gets to his feet, the referee shows him a yellow card.
Wirtz tees one up for Demirbay who whacks a right-footed shot high and wide of the target.
Leverkusen set piece
Demirbay tries with one more corner from the right but Bayern can clear that handily enough. This has been a decent response from the hosts, who haven't dropped their heads since falling behind.
Speed check: The fastest player in the game after 30 minutes
Bayern's record after taking a 1-0 lead in games this season is: 15 wins, four draws and no defeats.
Wirtz has a shot. It's blocked. Then Demirbay has a go. Another block. There was an offside flag up at some point in that move and Bayern can clear their lines with a free kick.
They only need one chance. Sane feeds Cancelo who lifts a pass in from the right. The ball lands at the feet of Goretzka who tees up Kimmich. The Bayern No. 6's shot takes a huge deflection off Odilon Kossounou before flying in.
Werkself with the chances
Bayer come again
Frimpong this time on the right, he cuts inside Davies and shoots low. Sommer pushes the ball into the side netting. This is a super start from the home side.
B04 heating up
The hosts mount a solid counter attack with Diaby powering a shot wide of the target. Alonso applauds on the sidelines while the home fans roar their approval.
Leverkusen with the ball
Yann Sommer is caught out by a Demirbay inswinger from the corner, Bayern's goalkeeper throwing up a fist at the last second to tip over.
We await the game's first chance as the rain teems down in Leverkusen. Both sides look compact.
The hosts are knocking the ball around as Bayern apply a hard press. It's intense thus far, Wirtz pulling Kimmich down in the Bayern area
Bayer Leverkusen get us underway in their red shirts and black shorts. Bayern are all in white today.
We're all set for kick off at a noisy BayArena!
Cool in Leverkusen
It's 13 degrees Celsius, 55.4 Fahrenheit on a grey, overcast day in Leverkusen. Both of these teams are certain to provide some on-field sparks to brighten things up at the BayArena.
Cancelo all set
Both teams are going through their respective pre-match warm ups in Leverkusen. Xabi Alonso, meanwhile, is exchanging greetings with the Bayern coaching staff.
Wirtz and Musiala

Watch: Previous meeting: Bayern 4-0 Leverkusen
Bayern have won all five of their Bundesliga fixtures played on Sundays so far in 2022/23.
Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso made 79 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern between 2014 and 2017, winning the league title three times and the DFB Cup once.
Leverkusen only won nine points from their first 12 Bundesliga games this season. In the subsequent 12 matches since then, however, they have collected 25 points - almost as many as Bayern's 27.
