Petrik Sander on facing Fürth

"With their attacking qualities, Fürth are capable of winning any match. We need to stand up to that and throw our own quality into the mix. If we do that, I'm convinced we can hold our own."

Heiko Vogel on facing Magdeburg

"I'm glad we managed to get an important three points at [Holstein] Kiel last time out. Magdeburg tend to have a great deal of possession, but they leave gaps at the back which we can exploit. I want us to have more possession too, though - we still need to improve in that regard. Despite our win in Kiel, there is still room for improvement."

Favourite opponent

Noel Futkeu scored a brace in the first leg and has found the net in each of his last three matches against Magdeburg (four goals in total).

Nine-goal spectacle

Their meeting earlier this season is the highest-scoring match of 2025/26. Magdeburg managed to pull themselves level having been 4-2 down and also having seen Alexander Nollenberger dismissed. However, despite their incredible effort, Marco John fired Fürth to a 5-4 away victory in the ninth minute of stoppage time.

Fürth's streak

Fürth are unbeaten against Magdeburg in their last six meetings, winning twice and drawing four times.
