Full-time: Karlsruhe 1-0 Cologne
Cologne were the better side for much of this match, and the manner in which the winning goal came about will be extremely bitter from their perspective. As a result, they lose away from home once again and slip to third place, while Hamburg can even increase the gap to four points tomorrow. The Billy Goats seemed devoid of ideas throughout, having scored only five times in their seven matches since the winter break.

Cologne's efforts in vain
The visitors are trying to make use of the final moments, but it's just not meant to be tonight. Karlsruhe, as they have done throughout the entire match, are relying completely on their fighting spirit.
90'
Stoppage time
Effzeh have four minutes left to try and take at least a point from this match.
87'
Crunch time
The final minutes are ticking away are Cologne are opening up at the back. Waldschmidt is now storming forward in place of Ljubicic, as they aim to become even more offensive.
83'
Plenty of fouls
In the last few minutes, there have been plenty of interruptions. Kaufmann sees yellow for a dive, while Hübers is also cautioned. Kainz can only be stopped by a tackle, but the resulting free-kick from a good 20 metres is hit into the wall.
81'
Downs again!
A cross finds the incoming Downs who, as so often this evening, doesn't put enough power behind his effort. To make matters worse, he heads it onto his own teammate, and the initially promising chance fizzles out.
76'
15 minutes to go!
Cologne have regained control of the match. However, they're still lacking that spark. Burnić fouls Kainz, resulting in another set-piece opportunity.

So close!
Superb cross from Jung! Kaufmann dives and is almost horizontal in the air, but he's just a few centimetres short of making contact.

Unlucky
Gazibegović wins the ball on the edge of the opponent's penalty area and leaves two Karlsruhe players for dead. However, the cross he attempts to deliver into the box deflects off his own leg and results in a goal kick.
63'
Guaranteed goal
Cologne are still yet to play out a goalless draw this term.
60'
Effzeh heavily pressed
In the last few minutes, they are being quite tightly closed down by the home side. The possession is not flowing as smoothly as it did earlier while Cologne have done very little in the final third in this second period.
57'
Struber reacts
Cologne are now becoming more attack-minded as the head coach makes a change. Schmied goes off, Huseinbašić comes on.
56'
Cologne must be careful...
...otherwise the evening could be over sooner than planned. The opener has worked wonders for the home side, and they are pressing strongly up front. Martel manages to save the day at the last second.
55'
Kobald soon to be a striker?
Currently part of a three-man defence, Kobald moved up front last week against Magdebrg scored to make it 2-1. He way heavily involved in the opener here too.
52'
Karlsruhe in front!
Kobald dribbles to the byline and across goal, where Gazibegović's shot hits Hübers and rolls into the net. Without a single shot on target in the entire match, the home side are now leading. How will Cologne respond?
51'
Unchanged
Cologne take control again and maintain possession. Can they create something?
47'
Opening with a corner
Karlsruhe get the first set-piece after the restart. They attempt a short corner variation but get it wrong as the chance goes begging.

Midfield battle
Both teams are making plenty of mistakes. Just before the break, neither side are taking any major risks. At the back, the ball is being played around by Cologne between Schwäbe and Martel.
45'
Stoppage time
We will have four additional minutes.
40'
Corner comes to nothing
Kainz deliver it to the near post, but a Karlsruhe foot is immediately there to clear. Neither team is currently creating any real danger.
39'
Maina forced off
It seems Maina injured himself more than initially thought. Rondić comes on to replace him.
33'
Not coming together
The pitch is also contributing to a lack of chances here, as a Cologne through ball can't be controlled by Ljubicic.
31'
In the balance
Whether in terms of shots on goal, possession, tackles, even sprints and pass completion rate - there is nothing between the two teams.
29'
Easy take
Kainz delivers a cross to Heintz, whose header lacks power. Weiß therefore smothers it comfortably.
25'
Slowing down
After a frantic start, things have calmed down as we approach the half-hour mark. Cologne are still pushing forward, but there haven't been any goal-scoring opportunities in the last few minutes.
22'
Yellow card for Kainz
A Cologne man goes into the book, with Kainz flying late into a challenge near the centre circle and receiving a caution.
19'
Save
Gazibegović and Ljubicic combine, but the Austrian's finish is too weak and central, allowing Weiß to save.
16'
Karlsruhe counter
The visitors then threaten at the other end. After a corner, it seems the Cologne players have forgotten about their defensive duties. Fortunately for Effzeh, Maina is extremely quick to track back, but he also injures himself in the process of making the clearance and requires brief treatment.
13'
Downs!
Big chance for Cologne! Downs picks up speed and gets past Beifus, but Weiß comes out and thwarts him.
13'
Karlsruhe robust
The home side's physical play is noticeable as they throw themselves into every ball and consequently allow Cologne little room in the opening quarter of an hour. Karlsruhe seem to be focusing mainly on counter-attacks today.
9'
The first Cologne set-piece
Kainz takes it, but it doesn't pose any danger. It even leads to a Karlsruhe counter, which results in a corner.
3'
Fire in the belly
The match begins with a drive towards goal. Ljubicic crosses from the right and Downs follows up immediately but is stopped just before he can finish. At the other end, Schleusener is offside as he shoots after a counter. Kobald sees yellow right at the start for stopping Maina with a foul during a break.

Kick-off!
We are underway at the Wildpark.

The visitors make three changes, meanwhile. Damion Downs leads the attack in place of Imad Rondić, while Max Finkgräfe replaces the suspended Leart Paqarada on the left. Eric Martel also returns to fitness after missing two matches, taking Mathias Olesen's spot in the team.
One change
Karlsruhe make just one change to the team that beat Magdeburg - Dzenis Burnić returns to the team after serving his yellow-card suspension, replacing Robin Heußer from the starting eleven.

Christian Eichner's view on Cologne
"Two teams in good spirits will meet each other, offering the spectators in the stadium and those watching on screens a similar spectacle to the first meeting, at least in terms of quality."
Gerhard Struber's view on Karlsruhe
"The departure of Zivzivadze has certainly had an impact. At the same time, there are many other guys who have a lot of quality. It's a team that has played successful football for a long time with clear patterns. Due to their results crisis, they have switched to a back three. This has created new patterns for them. Against Magdeburg, they did a lot of things right. You can see their individual quality, but also how they defend well as a team and have mentality. It will be a difficult task. When we're at 100 percent and get into our rhythm, we know how tough it is to play against us. That's why our focus is primarily on ourselves."
A familiar face
Eichner played for Cologne from early 2011 to summer 2013 and was relegated from the Bundesliga with them in 2012.
The last Karlsruhe victory against Effzeh dates back to 5 March 2007. In Bundesliga 2, Karlsruhe won 2-1 at home that day. The managers were Ede Becker and Christoph Daum, while current Karlsruhe sporting director Sebastian Freis scored the opener. Current head coach Christian Eichner was still playing for the victors on that occasion.
Good record against Karlsruhe
Cologne are unbeaten in five competitive matches against Karlsruhe and have lost only one of their last 11 competitive fixtures against them. The last time Cologne visited the Wildpark was in October 2013, when they won 2-1.
Incredible reverse fixture
The meeting between the teams earlier this season was one of the most spectacular matches in the Bundesliga 2 this season. Cologne led 3-0 after 15 minutes, but by the hour mark it was 4-4 thanks in part to Marvin Wanitzek's hat-trick. It remained that way until the end.
