Full time: RB Leipzig 0-0 Bochum

RB Leipzig were left frustrated on Saturday afternoon after being held to a point by a dogged Bochum side in a match in which the hosts missed two penalties. Leipzig dominated against their compact, deep-lying visitors but struggled to carve out any chances of note. Xavi Simons had the chance to change all that on 27 minutes after being felled in the box, but Manuel Riemann saved the youngster’s spot-kick. It was a similar story after the break, but even the award of a second penalty was not enough, with Reimann keeping out Emil Forsberg’s effort to ensure Bochum escaped with a point.

Bochum offering their best

Leipzig should be in front given the penalty miss, but the visitors have also fashioned chances despite their defensive approach. Asano just crept behind the defence only for a brilliant challenge from Lukeba to stop him.

Leipzig looking for lead

The Leipzig team have youth on their side today - with an average age of 25.2 compared to Bochum's 30.6. They have got the ball forward frequently in the opening stages but may have to be patient against the deep-defending visitors.

Watch: Bochum 1-0 Leipzig - previous meeting

Bochum picked up a huge victory over Leipzig thanks to Erhan Mašović's solitary strike.

Head-to-head

This fixture has, for the most part , been one-way traffic. The two have met nine times, and Leipzig have prevailed on each occasions, in the Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2 or DFB Cup. However, last time out in March, Bochum had the upper hand, clinching a 1-0 victory, and they will be eager to repeat the trick here.

Bochum finding things difficult

Bochum's recent form has been in stark contrast to that of their latest opponents. They remain without a win so far this term, although they have at least picked up three points thanks to draws with Frankfurt, Augsburg and Dortmund. Thomas Letsch will hope his side do not have to wait as long as last season before their maiden victory - that came in Matchday 9.

Leipzig on fire

RB have started the season in brilliant form. They were narrowly beaten by Leverkusen 3-2 on the opening day of the season, but are unbeaten in all competitions since then, including four wins and one draw in the league. After six matches, they have amassed 13 points and a goal difference of +10 - that constitutes their best-ever beginning to a Bundesliga campaign.

Watch: Bochum 1-3 Gladbach

Bochum, meanwhile, were beaten at home by Die Fohlen last time our. They found themselves 3-0 down at the break and, although Anthony Losilla was able to pull one back after the interval, it wasn't enough for the hosts to get anything from the game.

Watch: Leipzig 2-2 Bayern

Die Roten Bullen picked up a noteworthy point against the reigning champions last time out. They had raced into a two-goal lead and, while Bayern were able to peg them back after the interval, Marco Rose could still be pleased with his side's display.
