Full-time: Gladbach 2-1 Hoffenheim

Alassane Pléa and Nathan Ngoumou scored the goals as Gladbach inflicted a first away defeat of the season on Hoffenheim. The Foals struck against the run of play, with Pléa sweeping in a 58th-minute penalty after being brought down by Ozan Kabak. Wout Weghorst levelled within minutes, but Ngoumou had the final say to secure a win that bumps the Foals up to eighth. Hoffenheim - now winless in four league games - stay sixth.

Gladbach retake the lead!

So easy for Gladbach, who attack up the left with Pléa. He slips it to Netz, whose low cross is fired home first time by the unmarked Ngoumou.

Hoffenheim equalise!

Gladbach's lead lasts less than three minutes. Tohumcu clips a ball into the six-yard box for Weghorst, who meets the ball with a diving header to bring up his fourth goal in five games. Predatory finish from the big Dutchman!

Pléa on the spot!

Honorat feeds Pléa, who's brought down by Kabak. The referee points to the spot, and the French foward makes no mistake, sending Baumann the wrong way.

So close!

Ngoumou collects a ball over the top of the defence. He has the legs on Hoffenheim's last man, but his shot from the edge of the area clips the top of the crossbar.

Penalty not given!

There's a review after Ngoumou goes down under Kabak's challenge in the Hoffenheim box, but he was offside when he received the pass from Honorat.

Seoane's view on Hoffenheim

“I have to compliment Hoffenheim on their development this year. They are a very homogeneous team and have made a very good start to the season with some important wins, including away from home. A team who try to play football, a team who also have a good mix of robustness, physicality, but also footballing qualities and a good balance in terms of the players' ages. They have experience, but they also have young players with great potential. They've enjoyed a very good first part of the season."

Matarazzo's view on Gladbach

"Gladbach are a team who certainly didn't get off to a great start this season, but who have managed to find some stability since Matchday 6 and are winning regularly. They're a team who can and want to be dangerous on the counter-attack. They control the game well when in possession in the opposition's half, but at the same time are relatively compact without the ball and also try to close down the centre. They're certainly not easy opponents."

Corner vs. penalty kings

Gladbach have scored a league-high seven goals from corners this season. Hoffenheim have yet to hit the mark following a corner-kick, but are top dogs for penalties with four scored.
