Morocco 'determined to win'

In an interview with the club’s official website, Eintracht Frankfurt winger Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab said Morocco are determined to “make our country proud once again” against the 2022 finalists. “We have an incredible mindset and a lot of talent,” said the 21-year-old, who has made two appearances at the tournament so far. “We’re very hungry for success. We’re determined to win.”

Saibari sidelined

Morocco, meanwhile, will be without new Bayern Munich signing Ismael Saibari, who was forced off with a hamstring injury in the first half of his team's last-16 win over Canada. "He's not ready, but I hope it's not the end of the tournament for him," Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi said of the 25-year-old, who scored in each of the Atlas Lions' three group games against Brazil, Scotland and Haiti.

Olise Paraguay booking stands

France boss Didier Deschamps has confirmed that Les Bleus' bid to have Michael Olise's yellow card against Paraguay overturned has been rejected. Yellow cards are only wiped again after the quarter-finals, meaning Olise will miss his team's last-four clash if France beat Morocco and he picks up another booking in Boston. "The yellow card has not changed - it has been maintained," said Deschamps.

Morocco earned a deserved draw against Brazil in their World Cup opener before dispatching Scotland and Haiti to finish second in their group. The Atlas Lions then overcame the Netherlands 3-2 on penalties in the round of 32 after equalising in stoppage time during 90 minutes before cruising past co-hosts Canada 3-0 in the round of 16.
