What's at stake?

Côte d’Ivoire are well-placed to take second spot in this group, needing only a draw from this game to do so thanks to their opening win over Ecuador. Curaçao, meanwhile, would finish second if they prevail and Ecuador do not get the better of group winners Germany. A draw would not be enough to see them through to the next round, but would still contribute to a fantastic maiden participation in the competition given they are the smallest nation to ever play at the World Cup.
