Davies watches Canada history

Bayern's Alphonso Davies was an unused substitute as he works his way back to fitness and watched Canada record their first-ever win at the World Cup finals, beating nine-man Qatar 6-0 in Vancouver. Jonathan David hit a hat-trick, plus further strikes from Cyle Larin, Nathan Saliba and a Mohammed Manai own goal. Qatar had a man sent off in each half, including Assim Madibo after his challenge left Ismaël Koné with a broken leg that somewhat overshadowed the momentous victory.
