Belgium's final two warm-up games were near-perfect. First, they dispatched Croatia 2-0, then they thrashed Tunisia 5-0. Former Bundesliga players Kevin De Bruyne and Dodi Lukébakio were among those to score against Tunisia, and Frankfurt's Theate played 90 minutes against Croatia.

Egypt have played two friendlies in preparation for this tournament. They beat Russia 1-0 in the first, but lost 2-1 to Brazil on the 6th. Both of Egypt's goals were scored by Mostafa Ziko. The 29-year-old plays club football for Pyramids in his native Egypt.

Like Egypt, Belgium also got through their qualifying campaign unbeaten. Finishing two points clear of Wales and five clear of North Macedonia, only Norway (37 goals) scored more than Belgium's 29 strikes as the Red Devils secured five wins and three draws.

Hossam Hassan's Egypt got through their qualifying group unscathed, going the campaign unbeaten with eight wins and two draws, plundering 20 goals - of which Mohamed Salah struck nine - and allowing only two in the process as they finished five points clear of Burkina Faso.

Eyeing his first game

Arthur Theate - the Bundesliga's sole participant between the two nations - was an unused substitute at the FIFA World Cup 2022, and so the Eintracht Frankfurt defender will be looking to make his debut on the international stage in North America.
