Munich - Bundesliga leaders FC Bayern München have been boosted by the news that captain Philipp Lahm has returned to full team training following injury.

Competitive return unknown

The 31-year-old has not featured in the German top flight since Bayern's 4-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 11 after fracturing his ankle in training last November.

Lahm resumed running exercises last month as he stepped up his recovery, and on Monday morning he took part in full training with his team-mates again for the first time since sustaining the injury. The Bayern skipper is not expected to be fit in time to face Shakhtar Dontesk in the UEFA Champions League this Wednesday, but could be brought back within the next fortnight.

Lahm's team-mate Claudio Pizarro tweeted a picture of some of the squad members welcoming Lahm back into the fold on Monday.
