Hemelingen's DFB Cup history

The fifth division side have a rather short history in this competition. Last season was the first time they made the first round, and they lost 9-0 to then Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. They have won two consecutive Bremen State Cups, however.

The 96ers went as far as the quarter-finals in the 2021/22 campaign, where they lost 4-1 to RB Leipzig. Since then, they've suffered one second round exit and three in the first round. The last time they went beyond the quarters, in 1991/92, they won the competition, beating Borussia Mönchengladbach on penalties in the final.
