Yan Diomande makes Bundesliga history against Augsburg
Yan Diomande again played a decisive role for RB Leipzig as Ole Werner's side came from behind to beat Augsburg and boost their hopes of UEFA Champions League qualification. Not only did the 19-year-old score his side's equaliser, but he also made Bundesliga history...
Levelling the score at 1-1 in the 76th minute of what was ultimately a 2-1 win, it was the newly crowned February Rookie of the Month's tenth Bundesliga goal of the season.
Not only is it a fantastic return for a teenager playing in his first complete term of professional football, it is a total only bettered by five other players in the German top flight in 2025/26.

In doing so, Diomande also joined some esteemed company in the history books. At the age of 19 years and 114 days, he became the fourth-youngest player ever to reach double figures for goals in a single Bundesliga campaign.
Only Olaf Thon, Lukas Podolski and Jadon Sancho are ahead of him in that regard - a trio that made a big impact throughout their stints among the elite.

On top of that, Barcelona's Lamine Yamal (14) is the only teenager to find the back of the net more frequently in Europe's top five leagues in 2025/26.
Diomande is also only the second Ivorian to reach doubles figure in a Bundesliga term after Boubacar Sanogo, who struck ten times for Kaiserslautern in 2005/06.
