How was his 2025/26 season?

Much like a fine win, Kramarić continues to age exceedingly well. For a ninth time in 10 full Bundesliga seasons, the 34-year-old reached double figures for goals - a haul which included a hat-trick against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 17 - meaning Claudio Pizarro and Robert Lewandowski are the only two non-German players to have scored more frequently in the top flight.

What he brings to the national team?

Alongside the likes of Luka Modrić, the ever-green Kramarić is one of the remaining members from both Croatia's run to the 2018 World Cup final and their semi-final appearance four years later. He was particularly important in qualification for this edition, finding the back of the net on six occasions and even wearing the captain's armband for the first time against the Faroe Islands. His creativity, goals and experience will be a boon once more.

What his coaches say

"His stats speak for themselves. He's a top professional who tirelessly works on refining his skills. He is a role model for all of us, for the entire team, and is an extreme winner. He will never be satisfied sitting on the bench." - Hoffenheim head coach Christian Ilzer

"We solved it two years ago. He calmed down, keeps quiet, works and it comes back to him. This is not Hoffenheim, but the Croatia national team. You play where the coach tells you." - Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalić
