Wolfsburg's Denis Vavro sidelined with injury
Wolfsburg will be without centre-back Denis Vavro for the start of the new Bundesliga season after he suffered an injury at the weekend.
The club confirmed on Monday that the Slovakian defender suffered a serious adductor muscle injury in the DFB Cup first-round win over SV Hemelingen on SAturday.
He will undergo corrective surgery in the coming days.
There was more positive news for Wolfsburg team-mate Andreas Skov Olsen, who was likewise substituted off in that game, as it was determined that his ankle injury was not serious.
