Wisdom Mike leaves Bayern Munich to sign for Club Brugge
Germany youth international attacker Wisdom Mike is leaving Bayern Munich to join Belgian champions Club Brugge.
Mike made the first of four Bundesliga appearances, all from the substitutes' bench, for Bayern against Werder Bremen last September, just two days after his 17th birthday. At the time, he was the second-youngest debutant in the club's history.
The teenager also made an appearance in last season's UEFA Champions League for the club he has developed at since 2022 - after arriving from Borussia Mönchengladbach - against Club Brugge, whom he is now joining on a permanent transfer.
“‘Weezy’ came to Bayern at the age of 13, has continued to develop with us, made his professional debut just two days after his 17th birthday and became a German youth international. In addition to his sporting abilities, he stands out for his great character. We wish him all the best for the future," said Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund.
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany retains a number of attacking options, including new signing Ismael Saibari, when the champions open the new Bundesliga season at home to VfB Stuttgart this Friday (8.30pm CEST).
