Bayern Munich extend contracts with teenagers Lennart Karl and Wisdom Mike
Bayern Munich have handed contract extensions to teenage duo Lennart Karl and Wisdom Mike.
Karl, 17, and Mike, 16, have both been on Bayern's books since 2022 and have been training regularly with the first team in recent months.
Both featured in the friendly win over Tottenham Hotspur earlier this week, with Karl even scoring, and they earned praise from Harry Kane no less.
While Mike is yet to appear for the senior side in competitive action, Karl made his debut at the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA over the summer in Bayern's 10-0 win over Auckland City.
“For all our hunger for success, we want to continue to promote our talents at the FC Bayern Campus," said board member for sport Max Eberl.
"We want to continuously bring Lennart Karl and Wisdom Mike closer to the pro team, we want them to give it their all every day with our support. Besides Jamal Musiala, Aleks Pavlović and Josip Stanišić, we want more home-grown players in our first team."
No details were given as to the length of the contracts or whether they were on professional or youth terms.
