Any hopes Bremen had of mounting a second-half comeback were swiftly dashed. Just three minutes after the restart, Wimmer produced a moment of magic, unleashing a thunderous strike from 30 yards out that flew past Michael Zetterer and into the top corner. The goal stunned the home crowd and gave Wolfsburg a commanding 2-0 lead.
