Werder Bremen 1-2 Wolfsburg
Goals: 0-1 Wimmer 6' (assist: Skov Olsen), 0-2 Wimmer 48' (assist: Amoura), 1-2 Weiser 90' (assist: Stage)
Both teams entered the clash looking to improve their position in the table. Bremen, though, arrived in poor form, having won just one of their last eight league games in 2025 and conceding a league-high 22 goals in that period. Wolfsburg, on the other hand, had shown resilience, losing only once in their last eight Bundesliga outings. The visitors also had history on their side, having won 12 times at the Weserstadion - more than at any other away ground in their Bundesliga history.
The match began with intensity, and it didn't take long for Wolfsburg to stamp their authority. In the 6th minute, Patrick Wimmer broke the deadlock, capitalising on a corner kick from Andreas Skov Olsen. The goal came somewhat against the run of play, as Bremen had started brightly. Wimmer's opener, scored with his back from close range, set the tone for what would be a memorable night for the Austrian.
Despite falling behind, Bremen showed resilience and created numerous chances throughout the first half. André Silva came close to equalising twice in quick succession, first forcing a save from Müller in the 19th minute and then hitting the post just moments later. The Wolfsburg goalkeeper was in inspired form, making a series of crucial saves as he denied Jens Stage with a brilliant stop and then thwarted Mitchell Weiser shortly after. His heroics continued as he made another vital save from Miloš Veljković, keeping his team in the lead at half-time.
Any hopes Bremen had of mounting a second-half comeback were swiftly dashed. Just three minutes after the restart, Wimmer produced a moment of magic, unleashing a thunderous strike from 30 yards out that flew past Michael Zetterer and into the top corner. The goal stunned the home crowd and gave Wolfsburg a commanding 2-0 lead.
The two-goal deficit seemed to deflate Bremen, and they struggled to recreate their first-half intensity. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, managed the game well, with Müller continuing to frustrate the home side when called upon. As the match entered its final stages, Bremen found a second wind and their persistence finally paid off in the 90th minute when Weiser scored with a well-placed shot from just inside the box. However, the goal came too late to spark a genuine comeback, and Wolfsburg held on for a valuable away victory.

Beyond his goalscoring, the Austrian was a constant threat, creating chances for his teammates and working tirelessly in both attack and defence.
