VBL Grand Final: Umut "RBLZ_UMUT" Gültekin is 2021 German eFootball champion
Umut “RBLZ_UMUT” Gültekin held off the challenge of Dylan "DullenMIKE" Neuhausen to win the VBL Grand Final by bevestor on Sunday to become the new German eFootball champion.
"RBLZ_UMUT" only made it through to the Grand Final in dramatic circumstances, coming from two goals down to beat "svw_diviners" - Max Julius - on penalties in the PlayStation 4 decider.
"DullenMIKE" beat Serhat "Serhatinho01" Özturk in the Xbox One final to win through to the last stage.
It was "RBLZ_UMUT" who edged the Grand Final, which featured back-to-back matches on each console. The champion won the first match 2-1 on the Xbox One and the second 1-0 for a 3-1 aggregate success.
"RBLZ_UMUT", who succeeds 2020 champion Yannick Bederke, picked up €40,000 for his efforts, while "DullenMIKE" got half that amount as part of a healthy consolation prize.
