Julian Nagelsmann reaction to Germany's win against USA: "It was a perfect test for us"
Julian Nagelsmann said that Germany’s 2-1 win against the USA “was the perfect test” as his side continued their FIFA World Cup 2026 preparations with victory in their final pre-tournament friendly on Saturday.

Julian Nagelsmann: “It was a perfect test for us in terms of both the conditions and the opponents, who play with a lot of emotion. We’ve now won nine consecutive games, and that’s not something you can take for granted. It’s a different kind of match playing against a host nation than against another team. The atmosphere was fantastic and we achieved a good result.”
Kai Havertz: "I think we put in a good performance overall, and the second half was even better. Winning our ninth match in a row means we’ll go into the first group game full of confidence. Of course, there were spells when we lost a bit of control, but overall we’re in good form and can look ahead with optimism.”
Antonee Robinson: “I saw the ball looping and I just thought ‘commit’. There’s a lot of good to take away. It was the worst start possible to concede with their first chance of the game. But once we scored it evened up and we started creating chances. There are a lot of positives to take into the game against Paraguay.”
Tyler Adams: “We were going at it like it was the World Cup final and that’s what we wanted to see. We wanted to show our skill and quality, but it doesn’t come without being combative. You’ve got to test yourself against the best, and we did that tonight. We feel good about what we did and where we’re going.”
