Timo Werner to be given official RB Leipzig farewell against Wolfsburg
Timo Werner will be given an official farewell by RB Leipzig ahead of their Bundesliga Matchday 22 assignment at home to Wolfsburg on Sunday, with the forward set to move to MLS side the San José Earthquakes.
Werner's transfer to the MLS was confirmed at the end of January, and although he has struggled for game time in Leipzig this season, the 29-year-old remains a fan favourite at the Red Bull Arena, thanks in large part to scoring 95 goals in 159 competitive outings for the club between 2016 and 2020.
In a video message posted on Leipzig's social media channels, Werner said: "Hello Leipzig fans, I'm looking forward to seeing you all again in the stadium at the weekend and to say goodbye. Until then, best wishes, Timo"

As was the case with Kevin Kampl, who left the club by mutual consent last month, Leipzig will give Werner a fitting send-off in front of a home crowd in honour of his achievements.
Ole Werner's side currently sit fourth in the Bundesliga standings ahead of hosting 15th-placed Wolfsburg.
