Long-range goals are becoming something of a specialty for Holsten Kiel's Steven Skrzybski, who struck again from downtown on Matchday 18 in Bundesliga 2.

Skrzybski's already made history this season, after scoring the least likely goal ever in Kiel's win over Paderborn on Matchday 5.

That particular effort - from just beyond the halfway line - had a barely registrable xG of 0.03, making it the lowest probability goal scored since detailed data collection began.

In promotion candidates Kiel's first fixture of 2024, Skrzybski was at it again. Spotting Eintracht Braunschweig goalkeeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann outside his area, the Kiel forward raced away on the counter before dispatching an unerring finish into the back of the net from just inside his own half.

The audacious hit had a goal probability of three percent, according to Bundesliga Match Facts, powered by AWS.

Although Kiel lost the game, they're still second in Bundesliga 2, meaning their man with an eye for the spectacular could get yet get another shot at Bundesliga football next season.

The 31-year-old previously scored four times across 36 top-flight games for Fortuna Düsseldorf and Schalke.
