Bayern Munich smash five past St. Pauli to set new Bundesliga goal record
Bayern Munich demolished St. Pauli 5-0 at the Millerntor Stadium with goals from Musiala, Goretzka, Olise, Jackson and Guerreiro, setting a new Bundesliga record for most goals in a single season.

Fresh from their impressive 2-1 Champions League victory against Real Madrid, Bayern Munich arrived in Hamburg with history in their sights. The record champions had already scored 100 goals in the Bundesliga this season - just one shy of their club record from the 1971/72 campaign.
With one eye on next week's second leg against Madrid, Vincent Kompany made seven changes to his starting line-up, with Harry Kane among those rested. St. Pauli, meanwhile, were hoping to build on their strong home form, having lost just one of their previous seven matches at home as they battle to escape the relegation play-off spot.
Bayern dominated the early exchanges and broke the deadlock in the 9th minute. Konrad Laimer delivered a pinpoint cross from the right, and Jamal Musiala ghosted in at the far post to head past Nikola Vasilj. It was Bayern's 101st league goal of the season, equalling their club record. The visitors continued to press forward, with Nicolas Jackson rattling the crossbar in the 11th minute after a deflected effort.
St. Pauli struggled to contain Bayern's fluid attack, though they did threaten occasionally through Mathias Pereira Lage who forced a good block from Minjae Kim in the 30th minute. Musiala nearly added a second when he struck the post in the 27th minute, but Bayern had to settle for a one-goal advantage at half-time.

The hosts started the second half brightly with Andréas Hountondji testing Manuel Neuer, but Bayern soon took complete control. A moment of history arrived in the 53rd minute when Joshua Kimmich's free-kick was flicked on, allowing Leon Goretzka to volley home Bayern's record-breaking 102nd goal of the season.
The floodgates opened as Michael Olise made it three just a minute later, curling a superb left-footed strike from the edge of the box after good work from Goretzka. Kompany refreshed his side with the introductions of Josip Stanišić, Alphonso Davies and Luis Díaz, but maintained their relentless approach.

Bayern hammer home their superiority
The fourth goal arrived in the 65th minute when Musiala threaded a perfect pass to Jackson, who finished clinically past Vasilj. St. Pauli coach Alexander Blessin tried to stem the tide with substitutions, but his side couldn't get a foothold in the match.
Bayern's dominance was reflected in the statistics, with the visitors enjoying 72% possession and completing nearly 1,000 passes with remarkable 94% accuracy. There was still time for a fifth goal in the 88th minute as Raphaël Guerreiro capped off a fine individual display by slotting home after an assist from Jackson.
The comprehensive victory extended Bayern's unbeaten away run to 24 Bundesliga matches, dating back to December 2024, and left them needing just one more win to secure another league title.
Man of the Match: Jamal Musiala
Making his first start in over a month following injury, Musiala was absolutely sensational at the Millerntor. The 21-year-old broke the deadlock with a perfectly timed header, provided the assist for Jackson's goal, and was a constant threat throughout his 84 minutes on the pitch.
His technical brilliance was evident as he completed more successful dribbles than any other player and struck the woodwork with another effort. The statistics back up his dominance - Musiala won 15 challenges (the most in the match), was the most-pressed player with 15 pressure situations, and earned the highest fantasy score with 411 points. His combination of goals, creativity and work rate made him the clear standout performer.
