The 23-year-old forward enjoyed a sensational debut season at Stuttgart in 2024/25 following his move from Werder Bremen, contributing 12 goals and two assists in the Bundesliga, as well as five in the DFB Cup - including one in the final in May as VfB won the trophy.

That earned him a maiden call-up for the senior Germany side, while he also spearheaded the Germany U21s into the final of the UEFA U21 European Championship with six goals and three assists.

All of which grabbed the attention of the reiging Bundesliga champions. "It's no secret that he's a player we're considering, let's see what's possible," Eberl told DAZN following Bayern's 4-2 victory over Flamengo in the last 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup

However, the 51-year-old was quick to add that there had not yet been "any real discussion" with Stuttgart.

Bayern youngster Aleksandar Pavlović revealed that he has been acting as an unofficial intermediary between the club and his Germany teammate: "He's a good friend of mine. Of course, I'd be delighted. I've already talked to him a bit about it and joked [about him joining]. We'll see what happens with him in the future."

Woltemade himself refused to be drawn on the topic at a press conference prior to the U21 final against England, saying: "There are always things going on around you. That doesn't just affect me, but other players too."

Earlier in June, Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle was adamant that the club would not sell Woltemade this summer
