Max Eberl on Bayern Munich’s transfer plans and contract extensions
Bayern Munich are sitting pretty at the top of the Bundesliga table as they head into the winter break, and their attention will now turn to the upcoming winter transfer window.
Their off-field plans may not be as exciting as their on-pitch performances, however, with their sporting director Max Eberl quick to dismiss the possibility of any new faces.
"We're not looking outside because we have our squad," he said. "We've communicated clearly that three injured players are returning and are like new signings for us."
Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito have come back into the fold in recent weeks to bolster their defence, while midfield star Jamal Musiala is also working on a return to action in the new year.

"We won't be bringing in any external signings this winter," continued Eberl, who insists that the focus this window will be upon contract extensions for some of their current squad.
"We've been in talks for some time and are making good progress in one or two cases," he said. "When there's something to announce, we'll announce it".
That most likely refers to the cases of Dayot Upamecano and Serge Gnabry, who have been standout performers in Bayern’s superb start to the 2025/26 season.
