Paderborn's Jonas "Jonny" Wirth adds eChampions League title to Virtual Bundesliga double
Paderborn gamer Jonas "Jonny" Wirth won the eChampions League trophy in London, following on from his Virtual Bundesliga double earlier this year.
The 18-year-old was competing in his first eChampions League tournament and capped a remarkable year, which saw him win both the VBL Grand Final 2024 by WOW as an individual and the WOW VBL title alongside his Paderborn teammates.
Jonny beat RB Leipzig's Levy 'Levyfinn' Rieck in the eCL final, the same man he defeated to claim VBL Grand Final glory in April.
As a result, he will now compete in the FC Pro World Championship, where the teenager will look to extend his current 24-game unbeaten run on EA Sports FC 24.
Watch: Jonny lifts the VBL Grand Final trophy

Jonny told EA Sports after clinching the eCL trophy: "I don't know [if I'm the FC Pro World Championship favourite], but I hope I can win a fourth trophy this year and stay unbeaten in the World Cup. We will see."
Jonny was trailing in the second-half of the final, before eventually going on to win 5-2 and he later paid tribute to his coach for helping aid his comeback.
He said: "My coach calmed me down. He said to me "You'll win it" and that's something he said to me in the Virtual Bundesliga Finals which helped me get here and now the eChampions League Final. Now I've won three trophies this year. It's so amazing."
Dutch great Ruud Gullit was left impressed by Jonny's display, saying after the final: "The emotions after the final whistle showed what this title means to him. Jonny will be among the world's best in EA SPORTS FC for a long time to come."
