Quansah, who won the English Premier League with Liverpool in 2024/25, made the switch from the Reds to the BayArena last summer as one of 17 new additions to the squad.

Now, in an interview with Leverkusen's in-house media, he has shared his delight with his initial six months in the Bundesliga. "There was no better decision that I could have made. It never crossed my mind to even think about having a regret, because it has been so positive.

"That doesn't just mean I've been getting better and better and we've been winning games. There's obviously been setbacks along the way, and there have been days when I do miss home. But ultimately, this is on the road to whatever I want to be.

"Having this platform and having the people at the club, from the chefs, to the players and the coaching staff - everyone's been making me feel so comfortable, and it really makes you feel a part of something. I definitely, even early on, feel at home, which is the best thing for me at the moment."

His beginning to life at Leverkusen was not without its difficulties, with head coach Erik ten Hag dismissed after just three competitive games. However, the team have recovered well under his replacement, Kasper Hjulmand, for whom Quansah clearly has plenty of admiration.

"The new coach has been so calming and so assured in what he's been saying to us. He gives you the freedom to play how you want to. You can't come into a new team and change everything straight away.

"There is structure off the ball, but in possession we have freedom. I'm also grateful to him for giving me the chance to play week-in, week-out. He's a top coach."

Quansah is already an important member of Leverkusen's starting XI, racking up 21 appearances in all competitions at the heart of the defence alongside Edmond Tapsoba, whom the England international partially credits with helping him settle into his new surroundings so quickly. "I sit next to Edi [Tapsoba] in the changing room, and he is just one of those guys who gets along with a lot of people.

"When I first came here, because he's been here for so long, he has been able to help me integrate with the squad and make me feel at ease straight away. Having someone like that is so valuable to any team, especially when there have been so many changes."
