At 19, Jamal Musiala has become the youngest Bayern Munich player in history to reach 50 Bundesliga appearances.

bundesliga.com looks back on the devilishly gifted midfielder's career milestones to date...

3 July 2019 - Joins Bayern

Born in Germany but raised in England, Musiala was 16 when he swapped the Chelsea academy for Bayern. He scored 16 minutes into his debut for the U17s, and was promoted to the U19s before the year was out.

20 June 2020 - Bundesliga debut

Not long after the 2019/20 season resumed following the coronavirus-enforced hiatus, Musiala took the next sizeable step in his fledgling career. Between 6 and 20 June, he had debuted and scored for the second string in Germany's 3. Liga, featured on the first-team bench and made his Bundesliga bow.

Those two minutes off the bench in a match against Freiburg on the penultimate day of the campaign went down in history, as Musiala became Bayern's youngest ever Bundesliga debutant, aged 17 years, three months and 25 days.

18 August 2020 - First Bundesliga goal

Another cameo from the bench produced another milestone moment, on Matchday 1 of the 2020/21 season. At 17 years and 205 days, Musiala went into the annals as Bayern's greenest Bundesliga goalscorer, courtesy of his effort in an 8-0 rout of Schalke. The previous record holder, Roque Santa Cruz, was 18 years and 12 days old when he opened his top-flight account.

3 November 2020 - Champions League debut

Musiala was given his first taste of UEFA Champions League football when he replaced Thomas Müller in the 91st minute of a 6-2 group stage win over Salzburg. Doing so at just 17 years, eight months and eight days, he broke a record held by David Alaba that had stood for over a decade.

11 November 2020 - First Bundesliga start

Musiala continued to let the good times roll as he made his full Bundesliga debut - a 63-minute effort in a 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen. He was in the starting line-up once again a fortnight later, justifying his inclusion by scoring his third Bundesliga goal as Bayern came from behind to draw 3-3 with title rivals RB Leipzig.

11 February 2021 - Sextuple joy

Musiala wasn't in the matchday squad when Hansi Flick's Bayern got their hands on the 2020 Bundesliga, Champions League and DFB Cup, but he did make the bench for the UEFA Super Cup and collect seven minutes in the German equivalent. The teenager also enjoyed 17 minutes of the record champions' FIFA Club World Cup final win over Tigres.

23 February 2021 - Champions League history

Musiala didn't have to wait long for his next milestone moment. Making his second Champions League appearance, Musiala scored Bayern's second of three first-half goals in the first leg of their last-16 tie away to Lazio. In doing do, he dethroned Samuel Kuffour as the club's youngest marksman in the competition, at the tender age of 17 years and 363 days.

5 March 2021 - Signs first pro deal

Musiala's reward for all the above and much more besides was a first professional deal, through to summer 2026. "I'm really happy that I signed my first professional contract with FC Bayern," he told the club's official website at the time. "I play with the best players in the world and I learn from them every day in training. I want to keep getting better and win a lot of titles with FC Bayern."

25 March 2021 - Senior Germany debut

Musiala will have the opportunity to do that with Germany, too. Despite representing England at U15, U16, U17 and U21 level, the Fulda native pledged his allegiance to his country of birth not long before his 18th birthday. Within a month, he earned his maiden senior international cap, playing 11 second-half minutes of a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Iceland.

24 April 2021 - Twenty-five Bundesliga appearances

Musiala did his chances of making Germany's UEFA Euro 2020 squad no harm at all with goals in back-to-back games against Union Berlin and Wolfsburg - the latter a brace, which made him the youngest player in Bundesliga history to reach six goals. The following fixture was more bitter-sweet: a 2-1 loss to Mainz on his 25th Bundesliga appearance.

23 June 2021 - Germany's youngest at a finals

Musiala did punch his ticket to the rearranged Euro finals, despite only having one full season of first-team football behind him. The Bayern No.42 made substitute appearances in the crucial 2-2 group draw with Hungary and last-16 defeat to England, and ranks as his country's youngest debutant at a major finals.

11 October 2021 - First Germany goal

Further caps followed under former Bayern mentor Flick. A month after producing his first assist on his full international debut, Musiala came off the bench to score his maiden goal for Die Mannschaft. The goal put the seal on a 4-0 win over North Macedonia as Germany became the first team to qualify for Qatar 2022.

20 October 2021 - Fifty Bayern appearances

Musiala's first Germany goal fell on his ninth senior outing at international level. His ninth in the Champions League - four minutes of a 4-0 group win at Benfica - was his 50th in all competitions in the colours of the Bayern first team. He was still four months shy of his 19th birthday.
