Fixture framework calendar published for the 2021/22 season

The German Football Association (DFB) has adopted the framework for the 2021/22 season schedule. The season will kick off on 13 August 2021, with Bundesliga 2 getting underway before 23 July.

The top two divisions of German football will both pause between 17 and 19 December 21. Before that there will be an Englische Woche with midweek fixture which is scheduled to take place on Matchday 16 (14/15 December). After the winter break, the Bundesliga will resume play on 7 January 2022, with Bundesliga 2 restarting a week later on 14 January. The final day of the season, Matchday 34, is scheduled for 14 May 2022, with Bundesliga 2 concluding the next day, on 15 May.

Next season's DFB Cup starts from 6-9 August 2021. The second round will follow on 26/27 October. The third round will be on 18/19 January 2022 and the quarter-finals on 1/2 March. The semi-finals will be on 19/20 April with the 2022 DFB Cup final taking place on 21 May 2022 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
