Elversberg swoop for Bayern Munich's Maurice Krattenmacher
Newly promoted Elversberg have signed 20-year-old attacking midfielder and Germany U20 international Maurice Krattenmacher from Bayern Munich on a contract until 2030.
Spending 2025/26 on loan at Bundesliga 2 side Hertha Berlin, Krattenmacher- who was included in Bayern’s squad for last summer’s FIFA Club World Cup 2025 - scored two goals in 25 appearances across all competitions for the Old Lady.
“With Maurice, we are signing a very talented player who has already demonstrated his abilities in Bundesliga 2,” explained sporting director Christian Weber.
“We are convinced that his dynamism, spatial awareness, and versatile dribbling skills make him a perfect fit for our requirements on the wing, and he will adapt very quickly to the higher level of the Bundesliga.”
Rising through the ranks at Unterhaching, the German youth international returned to Bayern in July 2024 before subsequent loans at then Bundesliga 2 side Ulm, where he struck three goals and provided four assists in 32 league games, and Hertha before leaving Germany’s record champions on a permanent basis.
“The Bundesliga has always been a major goal of mine, something that I have worked towards,” remarked Krattenmacher, who has played 54 Bundesliga 2 games. “The fact that I can now take this step with an exciting and superbly managed club like Elversberg fills me with pride.
“At the same time, I see it as an incentive: I want to seize this opportunity to prove myself at this level, contribute to the team's success, and establish myself as an important player. I am very much looking forward to it and will give 100 per cent every day.”

Elversberg secured a historic first promotion to Germany’s top flight after a 3-0 victory over Preußen Münster on the final day of the season saw them finish second in Bundesliga 2.
The new signing is due to link up with the Bundesliga new boys when they return to pre-season training on 29 June, and could make his competitive debut in the DFB Cup first round at Duisburg on 21-24 August, before their battle for Bundesliga survival starts the following weekend.
