Elversberg's Cole Campbell earns first USMNT call-up
Cole Campbell has been called up to the United States men's national team for the first time after an impressive start to the Bundesliga campaign with Elversberg.
Campbell, 20, has scored once in four competitive appearances since joining the top-flight newcomers from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
The Houston-born forward initially represented Iceland's U17s before switching his international allegiance to the USA. He has since represented the US at U19, U20 and U23 level.
Campbell is part of a 28-man roster for the USA's upcoming friendlies against Peru, Chile, Mexico and Canada, alongside Dortmund midfielder Mathis Albert and Bayer Leverkusen's Malik Tillman. Campbell and Albert, 17, are among 12 uncapped players called up by head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Campbell recently said playing for the US senior team "would be a dream come true".
