When and where did the Champions League round of 16 draw take place?
The draw took place on Friday 27 February at 12pm CET. It dictated which teams play each other in the round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals.
How did the draw work?
The round of 16 includes the eight teams who qualified automatically from the league phase, alongside the eight who qualified via this week's play-offs. The automatic qualifiers were seeded for the last 16 and have the luxury of playing the second legs at home.
Each of those teams (who finished first to eighth in the league phase) had two possible opponents on Friday. Much like the play-off round, matches between teams from the same nation were possible.
The top four teams from the league phase will also have home advantage in the second leg of a future quarter-final, and the top two will additionally have home advantage in a semi-final.
