With the UEFA Champions League season fast approaching, Borussia Dortmund have released their cup kit, which is an homage to the 1965/66 European Cup-winning BVB side.

Recent years have seen Dortmund release 'cup kits' to be worn in their Champions League fixtures, and 2025/26 is no different. Their latest release is a retro number modelled after the kit worn by the BVB side of 1965/66 - the first ever German side to win a European club competition.

Adorned on the new strip is a fitting retro crest surrounded by a black ring, complimenting the subtle embossed floral design all over the kit, which took inspiration from the pattern adorned on the handles of the old European Cup Winners' Cup.

The details don't stop there, though - the shirt is also finished with clean black detailing on the neck and sleeves.

Available in both 'authentic' and 'replica' versions, the replica kit is made using at least 95 percent recycled textile waste, as part of Dortmund's - and their partners' - commitment to sustainability.

It remains to be seen when Dortmund will get to debut their new kit, with the Champions League's league phase draw set to take place at 6pm CEST on 28 August.

Nevertheless, the Black & Yellows will be back in action at the weekend as they welcome Union Berlin to Signal Iduna Park on Sunday, 31 August (5.30pm).

The shirt is available to purchase via Dortmund's online shop. The price for adults is €100 and €80 for children.
