A stunning second-half turnaround saw Bayern brush aside RB Leipzig 5-1 on Matchday 18, meaning Kompany's team are only the third ever to have won 16 of their opening 18 matches of a Bundesliga season, after Pep Guardiola's Bayern class of 2013/14 and 2015/16.

Only the former had previously reached 50 points this early in a campaign, with a goal difference of +37.

The current crop, though, have smashed a goal difference of +57 to claim the outright best start ever.
