How do Bayern Munich usually perform at home during Oktoberfest?
With Oktoberfest currently in full swing, we take a closer look at Bayern Munich's Bundesliga results over the years during the city's annual beer festival. And the big question is: Do the fans get to celebrate even more or do they end up drowning their sorrows more than usual?
In 2025, Oktoberfest falls between 20 September and 5 October. Bayern’s one home fixture in that time is Friday's clash with Werder Bremen on Matchday 5.
While Vincent Kompany’s side have won every Bundesliga match so far this season, and Bremen have just four points on the board so far, there may yet be a glimmer of hope for the visitors at the Allianz Arena on Friday.
Of the 94 Bundesliga home games Bayern have played during Oktoberfest in their history, they have won 60. That 64 percent success rate is a significant drop from their usual winning ratio of 76 percent outside of the festivities.
The remaining 34 of those 90 games have included 24 draws and 10 defeats – including one inflicted by Bremen themselves, with a 5-2 win in 2008 only the third time the Bavarians had conceded five goals at home in the Bundesliga.
In fact, in their last 11 Oktoberfest home games Bayern have won less than half (five), with their most recent loss coming against Hoffenheim, who beat them 2-1 in 2019 thanks to a Sargis Adamyan brace.
Watch: Legendary Oktoberfest goals

Flowing beer on the Theresienwiese also seems to affect the usual flow of goals.
Bayern average 2.8 goals per home game outside Oktoberfest times, but that drops slighly to 2.7 during the festival. They also concede more, 1.1 goals per game compared to 0.9 in normal times.
They’ll be facing a much more familiar opponent this time around, with this being the 117th meeting between Bayern and Bremen in the Bundesliga, making it the most played fixture in Germany’s top flight.
The Munich club have won 25 of the last 27 encounters.
