History made as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen lose at home on same matchday
History was made this weekend as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen all lost at home on the same matchday for the first time in Bundesliga history.
Matchday 25 threw up a rare hat-trick of surprises for Bayern, Dortmund and Leverkusen who were each beaten by Bochum (3-2), Augsburg (1-0) and Werder Bremen (2-0), respectively.
So rare in fact that it was the first time since the 2006/07 season that these three Bundesliga giants have all lost on the same matchday.
Back then, Bayern were beaten 3-0 by Nuremberg, Leverkusen lost a 3-2 thriller to Wolfsburg and VfB Stuttgart defeated Dortmund 1-0.

Leverkusen and Bayern were away from home for those losses, compared to the trio of home defeats on Matchday 25.
As a result, this weekend made Bundesliga history as Bayern, Dortmund and Leverkusen had never previously been beaten on home over the same matchday of a season.

Bayern and Leverkusen now have the chance to address their losses against each other when they meet in their UEFA Champions League round of 16 second-leg, with the former leading 3-0 on aggregate.
Meanwhile, Dortmund will look to get back to winning ways by progressing beyond Lille in their own last-16 tie.
