Augsburg interim coach Manuel Baum to stay in charge until end of 2025/26
Augsburg have confirmed Manuel Baum will remain as interim coach until the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
Augsburg's former head coach (2016-2019) and current head of development, Baum stepped in on a temporary basis following the departure of Sandro Wagner at the start of December.
Since then, the 46-year-old has guided Augsburg to four points in three matches, during which they have conceded just one goal.
Die Fuggerstädter currently sit 15th in the table, two points clear of the relegation play-off position.

Augsburg sporting director Benni Weber said: “Our performances under Manuel Baum have given us belief that we can have a successful season. Manuel also fits perfectly with our philosophy of developing the team further and giving enough opportunities to young players. He’s already shown in the past that he can do that.”
Baum added: “I’ve really enjoyed working with the team, so I’m delighted to be staying on as Augsburg head coach for a bit longer. However, it’s also important to me that I eventually return to my previous role. Until then, we will do everything we can during the short winter break to make sure we have a successful season.”
Augsburg visit Borussia Mönchengladbach in their first match of the new year, on 11 January.
The Bavarian outfit have enjoyed Bundesliga football since their maiden promotion to Germany's top tier in 2011.
