Having been reunited with compatriot Jesse Marsch, Adams has immediately moved to the front of the queue at the base of the new Leipzig coach's midfield. The New York state native started all four of Leipzig's league and cup games to kick-off 2021/22, with Amadou Haidara and Kevin Kampl sharing duties alongside the USA international. He has been in and out of the side since, but played the full 90 minutes in midfield as Leipzig overcame Dortmund 2-1 on Matchday 11 and as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Hoffenheim on Matchday 12.

Brooks - who was in the league’s top three for aerial duels won (134) in 2020/21 - featured in 31 of Wolfsburg's 34 Bundesliga matches last season, forming a formidable defensive partnership with Maxence Lacroix. Wolfsburg started the season in stunning fashion and were top after five games but have suffered a blip in recent weeks that has seen the team slip down the table.

Chris Richards

Club: Hoffenheim (on-loan from Bayern Munich)
Position: Centre-back
Age: 21
Bundesliga games this season: 11
Starts: 5

2021/22 so far

After a highly productive loan spell with Hoffenheim at the back end of last season, Richards returned to the Allianz Arena over the summer hoping to force his way into Julian Nagelsmann's first team reckoning. But after just two minutes of Bundesliga football across the opening three weeks of the season, Richards made the move back to TSG with the promise of greater playing time. It has paid off, with the USMNT international featuring in every Bundesliga match since returning to Sebastian Hoeneß's side.

The Bayern loanee began on the bench on Matchday 13, but entered the field in the 63rd minute to help Hoffenheim to a memorable 6-3 win over Greuther Fürth.

2021/22 so far

Following his move to Gladbach from New York City FC in January 2021, Scally got accustomed to life in Germany by featuring in his new team's reserves. It now looks as if the teenager is well and truly settled and, on the back of a fine pre-season with the first team, he has forced his way into the Gladbach defence, starting every game up to and including Matchday 13. He also scored his first goal in Germany in stoppage time of his team's win over Wolfsburg on week seven, and registered his first assist on Matchday 10.

Last matchday

Scally made his 13th straight start in the Bundesliga, but was substituted off in the 81st minute of Gladbach's 4-1 derby defeat by Cologne.

After six years away, Green is back in the German top-flight and hoping to make his stay a more permanent one this time around. He was on the scoresheet in Fürth's defeat on penalties in the first round of the cup, and was named in the Greuther starting XI for each of their opening four league games of the season. He also started against former employers Bayern Munich but has increasingly found himself among the substitutes.

An unused substitute for the team's first five Bundesliga games, Tillman did feature for the majority of the Clover Leaves' DFB Cup first round defeat against fourth-tier side SV Babelsberg. After providing an assist as a substitute against Bayern on Matchday 6, Tillman was rewarded with his first Bundesliga start of 2021/22 away to Cologne on Matchday 7. He chalked up another assist as the Clover Leaves took the lead in that game, although they ultimately lost 3-1. Tillman started for a second time in succession as Fürth were beaten by Bochum a week later.

Last matchday

Tillman has been the chief beneficiary of Green's increasing spells on the substitute's bench, the 22-year-old enjoying more game time as a result. He started against Hoffenheim on Matchday 13 and scored his maiden Bundesliga goal to equalise at 2-2, before the Clover Leaves slipped to a 6-3 reverse.
