Leverkusen blew Leipzig away in the second-half, who couldn't get out of gear and offer anyway near the same amount of attacking threat as the hosts. Their dominance didn't go without reward either, with Gutiérrez's finish capping off a brilliant performance for the left-back who had assisted the first goal too. It could have been more in the end for Leverkusen, with Maza unlocking the Leipzig defence on numerous occasions, but it ends 2-0 for Carles Martínez's men.

Peter Hermann to be honoured

A minutes silence will be observed before kick-off to pay respect to former Leverkusen player and coach, Peter Hermann. He made over 200 appearances in red and black before becoming a coach at the club, a position he occupied for almost 30 years over different spells. Hermann also worked for the likes of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and Hamburg over his incredible career in the game.
