WATCH: MAYA YOSHIDA - 'WE'RE NOT MAN CITY OR BARCA, BUT...'
WATCH: JORDI OSEI-TUTU - 'WE HAVE TO STICK TOGETHER'
The man who moved from Bochum to Schalke in the summer sinks his former side, as they remain winless and Schalke celebrate their first maximum-point haul.
Nobody is on the pitch, and nobody thinks it's all over, but it is now. Polter heads in Schalke's third, his first goal for the Royal Blues seals Schalke's first win in the Bundesliga in 483 days!
GOAL!3 : 1
Karaman tries to meet Mohr's free-kick, but he doesn't make contact right under Riemann's nose. In fact, he may have made contact with the Bochum goalkeeper, who is looking a bit sore.
FIVE MORE MINUTES
We are into stoppage time and only five minutes left for Bochum to avoid six on the spin.

FINAL ROLL OF THE DICE
An attacking change for Bochum with a defender removed and a forward now on - all or nothing for the guests.
Zero points and -13 goals, it is looking bleak for Bochum, unless they can get something from the final ten minutes.
ANOTHER TERODDE MISS
That could have been that for Bochum, but Terodde's curse tonight continues as he snatches at the shot and places it wide of Riemann's goal.

THROUGH IT GOES!
Mohr reels away in celebration, but the goal is an own-goal by Masovic after the Schalke full-back's curling shot was helped into his own goal by the Bochum defender. Mohr won't mind his own name not being on the scoresheet, as long as his team are leading.
OWN GOAL!2 : 1
Everything has been between Terodde and a goal today - his team-mates, opponents' legs and now, the crossbar.
A great chance for Schalke, but Terodde either does not see Bülter to his right, or chooses not to feed him. In the end, his shot is blocked and the chance goes begging.
BOCHUM EDGING AHEAD
Half an hour to go and if you ask Kramer or Reis, neither will be particularly happy to take just a point, which can only mean one thing for this final 30 minutes.
That was Bochum's first second-half goal of the season, and their first goal in 397 minutes.
That goal has edged Bochum closer to Schalke on the xG gauge.
ALMOST IMMEDIATE IMPACT
Zalazar came on straight after that goal was confirmed for Bochum, and with his first touch, he test Riemann from an angle.
ZOLLER ON A ROLL
Zoller has scored Bochum's last three goals this season. He did not know too much about this one, though.
Bochum are level! The offside decision was incorrect and the fact Zoller helped Hofmann's shot cross the line does not matter - it is a goal!
The flag is up, but was it offside? Bochum could be ahead here...
GOAL!1 : 1
CHANGE AT THE BACK
Reis has seen somewhere where he could improve his team, with Janko on for Gamboa at the break.
And xG would also confirm that Schalke are worthy leaders at half-time.
FAIR, ON BALANCE
Plenty of twists in the plot of that first half, but Schalke lead at the break thanks to a goal which came against the run of play when it fell, but on balance, they have perhaps edged the first 45 minutes.
FOUR MORE MINUTES
We are into stoppage time, of which there will be at least four minutes.
No penalty for Schalke, and we are underway again.
Schalke calling for a penalty as Terodde takes a tumble in the area. Play continues, but a VAR check will be looking at it.
RIGHT PLACE, RIGHT TIME!
Bülter's shot is only parried by Riemann and Drexler is in the perfect position to place it into the corner, relieve the pressure and put the Royal Blues ahead.

HOLTMANN THE DANGER
Holtmann is seeing more and more of the ball, and Bochum are looking increasingly dangerous. His cross from the left is punched away very dramatically, in trout-leaping style, by Schwolow. One for the cameras, but he did the job too.

THE BREAKING BOCHUM
Bochum are waiting for a chance to launch an attack, with Holtmann's pace being exploited down the left. Breaking Bochum.

HOLTMANN HITS IT; ZOLLER SKIES IT!
Bochum's first two chances fall within the space of seconds. Holtmann's low drive is fumbled out to Zoller, who hits the rebound over the crossbar!
Krauss is the next Schalke player to line up a shot, but while this effort did not find another limb, it did not find the target either.
Schalke are getting closer and closer, at least to deserving the opening goal.
RIEMANN GOES AWOL...
...but Schalke cannot take advantage, as Terodde gets the ball stuck between his feet with the Bochum goalkeeper out of his goalmouth, and the Bochum defenders hound him out as Riemann returns and picks up the ball.
NEXT TERODDE CHANCE
Larsson feeds Terodde to his left and perhaps the Schalke forward waits too long before shooting, and Masovic makes the block.

NEXT SHOT BLOCKED
This Larsson effort does not make it as far as Reimann, as the legs of Terodde take the sting out of it and divert the ball away from the Bochum goal, but some encouraging signs for the hosts.
Good job for Riemann that he was standing plum in the course of that Terodde volley, which was going at a rate of knots but rebounded away to safety.
Asano went down after a clash in the first minute and though he got to his feet again, he has now called for treatment and Gerrit Holtmann comes on to replace him. An early enforced change for Bochum.
HERE WE GO
Bochum get the ball rolling. They play from right to left in the first half.
12 YEARS IN THE MAKING
Schalke and Bochum emerge from the tunnel, symbolically too since this Ruhr Derby last took place nearly 12 years ago.
SCHALKE SEEK SECOND WIN
Schalke are still awaiting their first win since being promoted as Bundesliga 2 champions. The Royal Blues were hammered 6-1 by Union Berlin on Matchday 4, but steadied the ship with a 1-1 draw at VfB Stuttgart last time out. Together with draws against Borussia Mönchengladbach and Wolfsburg, and defeat to Cologne on the opening weekend, it gives them three points from a possible 15 in the embryonic stages of the campaign.
Rock-bottom Bochum are not only winless - they're also pointless after succumbing to two late Niclas Füllkrug goals against promoted Werder Bremen on Matchday 5. Defeats to Freiburg (1-0), Bayern Munich (7-0) Hoffenheim (3-2) and Mainz (2-1) complete an alarming report card, though Thomas Reis was recently given a vote of confidence by the board.
Henning Matriciani will be making his first appearance of the season. The 22-year-old played his last official match in the S04 jersey on Matchday 34 of the 2021/22 Bundesliga 2 (15 minutes as a substitute in the 2-1 win at Nuremberg).
TWO CHANGES ALSO FOR BOCHUM
Thomas Reis also makes two changes to his starting eleven compared to their last match (2-0 home loss against Bremen): Danilo Soares and Philipp Hofmann replace Jordi Osei-Tutu and Gerrit Holtmann (both on the bench).
TWO CHANGES FOR SCHALKE
Schake coach Frank Kramer changes his starting eleven in two positions compared to the last match (1-1 in Stuttgart): Tobias Mohr and Henning Matriciani replace Thomas Ouwejan (on the bench) and Cedric Brunner (not in the squad due to muscular problems).
REIS PLAYING CATCH-UP
If Schalke are desperate for a win, Bochum are even more so. Thomas Reis's men have yet to add a point to the board and things are beginning to get tricky. Here's what Reis had to say about the current situation. "I can't blame the team. We're also doing a lot of things well. Of course, we'll have to keep working so that we can get something to show for it. With a win, we can catch up with Schalke in terms of points."
KRAMER "DESPERATE" FOR WIN
This is where we wrap up the Saturday evening action and it's a solid game for Bundesliga aficionados to look forward to, with bottom-of-the-table Bochum visiting a Schalke side desperate to pick up their first victory of the campaign.
