HERTHA +3

That's a huge three points for the Old Lady, who win for the first time in 2023. It's also the first time since December 2021 that the hosts came from behind to triumph in a Bundesliga game.

GOAL RULED OUT

Hofmann now has one ruled out for offside. Daniel Farke cuts a miserable figure on the touchline. It seems like a very long time ago that his side led here.

NO GO LUKEBAKIO

Lukebakio is played clean through, hits the foot of the post and then buries the rebound. The assistant's flag is up for an offside.

HERTHA WRAP IT UP

The Olympiastadion erupts! Hertha have all three points and it's a lovely goal that settles it. Scherhant raises a foot to pull the ball close to his body. He gathers it between his feet, works some space for a shot and drills a finish from the D across Omlin and into the far corner.

THURAM DENIED

Oliver Christensen comes to Hertha's rescue. The square pass from Hofmann lands perfectly at the feet of Thuram who shoots high at goal. Christensen dives, flings up a hand and palms the ball over the bar. Top save.
86'

SCALLY EFFORT

Joe Scally lets fly from distance and the USMNT international's effort is not all that far off target. The shot had loads of pace but Oliver Christensen probably had it covered.
84'

DARDAI AND OUT

Dardai went down earlier and has been feeling his hamstring ever since. The goalscorer's number comes up on the subs' board and his memorable day has come to an end.
82'

LUKEBAKIO HAS A POP

Dodi Lukebakio runs and runs and then runs some more. Gladbach's defenders back off all the way, allowing the Hertha sub to slam a shot at goal from the edge of the box. The forward's effort flies over the top.

HERTHA MOVING UP?

As things stand, Hertha would move up to third from bottom, just two points behind Bochum in the standings. There's plenty of time left in this game yet for Gladbach to work some magic, however.

DARDAI DOWN

Hertha's second goalscorer Dardai is hobbling off for treatment. It remains to be seen whether he can continue here ...

THE JOY OF YOUTH

Interesting to note that Ngankam and Dardai - who are 22 and 21 respectively - are Hertha's two goalscorers so far today.

DARDAI CELEBRATIONS

What a time to score his first Bundesliga goal, and what a hit too! Happy 21st birthday, Marton Dardai ! His dad Pal is in the crowd going crazy, understandably.

HERTHA CRACKER!

What. A. Goal! Tolga Cigerci - following some fine work on the edge of the Gladbach area - eventually squares for Dardai. The Hertha man lashes a left-footed thunderbolt from downtown and looks on as the ball flies up towards the top-right hand corner and bounces in off the underside. Immense strike!

MOMENTUM WITH HOSTS

HALF TIME

A solid first half's entertainment comes to an end at the Olympiastadion. Hertha ended the half on a high, pushing Gladbach into their own area. The hosts scored a decent goal through Jessic Ngankam too. The Foals - who earlier led through Elvedi's header from a corner - won't be too displeased to hear the half-time whistle.

HERTHA ARE LEVEL!

Lovely goal! Tolga Cigerci plays a smart one-two with Marco Richter - the former's return ball a tasty back-heel. Richter drills his pass across the face of the six-yard area and Ngankam smashes home from close range! That's his first goal at the Olympiastadion.

ALL BARK ...

The hosts have been trying to find a breakthrough with Niederlechner and Plattenhardt looking busy. It's just not flowing for Hertha here, however. A second away goal looks more likely than a home first at the moment.

Gladbach scored for the sixth time from a corner this season, which is a division best shared with Union Berlin. Interestingly enough, it was the first time Luca Netz took a corner this term.

ELEVEDI RISING

There's the opener and it's all pretty straightforward. Luca Netz's corner from the right is met by the leaping Nico Elevedi, who angles a looping header towards the far post and in. The hosts won't be happy with their defending there. Gladbach lead.

MILESTONES APLENTY

Jonas Hofmann is playing his 200th competitive game for Mönchengladbach today while Marcus Thuram is making his 100th Bundesliga appearance. Marco Richter is all set for a 50th competitive game for Hertha.

"EMOTIONAL GAME"

Here's what Gladbach coach Daniel Farke had to say about the Foals' opponents: "We have stressed the importance that this game has for Hertha and [we] are prepared for it to be an emotional game. We also know that the opposition will not be too confident and probably make one or two mistakes. We have to be alert and try to use this current situation to our advantage."

HERTHA INCENTIVE

Not that they need it, but Hertha have an extra incentive to try and pick up maximum points today. The four teams immediately above the Old Lady in the table - Stuttgart, Bochum, Hoffenheim and Bochum - all lost yesterday. Basement side Schalke, meanwhile, drew 0-0 last Friday.

BORUSSIA TEAM NEWS

Gladbach boss Daniel Farke makes two changes to the team that started the 0-0 draw with Schalke last time out. With Ramy Bensebaini ill and Julian Weigl suspended, Luca Netz and Hannes Wolf start.

HERTHA TEAM NEWS

Marton Dardai, meanwhile, makes his second start in the top flight this term. Dodi Lukebakio, Jonjoe Kenny and Jean-Paul Boetius are on the bench.

Watch: Previous meeting: Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-0 Hertha

An Alassane Plea penalty was ultimately the difference between the sides in a game in which Hertha's lack of a cutting edge cost them dearly.

Away day blues

The Foals have won just once on their travels this season, drawing four and losing four.

Cause for optimism?

If ever Hertha had a chance to turn their fortunes around then it is now: Gladbach are winless in their last four trips to the Olympiastadion, drawing two and losing two.

Hertha empty handed

The hosts are the only Bundesliga team yet to collect even a single point in 2023, following defeats against Frankfurt, Union, Wolfsburg and Bochum since the turn of the year (13 goals conceded, one scored).
