HOFFENHEIM PENALTY!

ADAMYAN GIVES HOFFENHEIM HOPE!

Vogt sends a looping ball into the Wolfsburg defence which Brooks misjudges, allowing Adamyan to latch onto the pass. A touch to control in the Wolfsburg box and he smashes the ball past Casteels at the near post.

ADAMYAN SHOT SAVED!

Gacinovic's header to the back post sends the ball to back post and Adamyan is on the end of it, but Casteels is out quickly to save from close range once again.
84'

WEGHORST WIDE!

Wow, that's the first penalty missed in the Bundesliga this season. Weghorst drags the spot-kick wide across goal, missing the post and Baumann's dive all together.
82'

WOLFSBURG PENALTY!

Vogt is booked as Akpoguma loses the ball under pressure from Schlager and Weghorst. The Dutchman's shot is saved, but Schlager is then brought down by Vogt in front of goal on the rebound.
80'

GACINOVIC NOT FAR AWAY!

Baumgartner plays a beautiful ball into the box with the outside of his right boot for Gacinovic to meet, but he misses the target from a tight angle at the near post as we enter the final 10 minutes.
77'

NOT GOING QUIETLY

The away side are pushing and pushing for a goal to bring this game back to life for them. But Casteels has still only had to deal with one shot on target - coming from Baumgartner from close range.
74'

MORE ATTACKING REINFORCEMENT

Bebou brings pace into the Hoffenheim attack in place of midfielder Samassekou
71'

DOUBLE CHANGE

Fresh legs and an extra man in midfield as Victor and Gerhardt come on for Steffen and Brekalo.
64'

ANOTHER CHANCE

Steffen makes a mistake around his own penalty area having tracked back against Sessegnon. The Hoffenheim left-back's attempted pass to Baumgartner doesn't come off, but Steffen's clearance falls straight to the Englishman. He plays in Baumgartner, but his effort is saved by Casteels at close range.

FIRST CHANGES

Attacking moves from Hoffenheim, with Adamyan and Gacinovic on for Grillitsch and Belfodil before the hour mark.
55'

STRAIGHT OFF THE TRAINING GROUND!

Roussillon runs past the Hoffenheim wall from a free-kick and Arnold plays him in on goal. He fires a shot low but it's straight at Baumann, who parries it away to be cleared. Far too easy for the hosts there.
52'

BREKALO HAS A POP

The winger is enjoying himself as well, cutting inside beyond Bogarde and firing a shot at goal. This one is straight at Baumann, but Brekalo continues to be a real thorn in Hoffenheim's defence.
48'

BROOKS BOOKED

Belfodil is having some fun against the American defender here, and earns a free-kick with a pull-back from Brooks on the right flank.
46'

GRILLITSCH HEADS WIDE

Hoffenheim immediately pushing forward as Belfodil finds Rudy, who clips a cross into the Wolfsburg box and finds Grillitsch in an advanced position. His glancing header bounces wide across Casteels and the Wolfsburg goal, though.
46'

BACK UNDERWAY!

Wolfsburg dominated the first 30 minutes, but Hoffenheim showed there's still a game to be played here with chances of their own at the end of the first half. No changes now into the second half.

NOW IT'S BAUMGARTNER

Dabbur flicks the ball inside from the left of the Wolfsburg box with Baumgartner in front of goal. It's an awkward one for him, with the ball bouncing high and behind him, and he can't get the right contact on the ball as he swivelled.
45'

ADDED TIME

We're now into five minutes of stoppage time at the end of this first half.
45'

CLOSE AGAIN!

Belfodil breaks past Brooks near the byline in the Wolfsburg box, dribbling past the American and getting his head up to look for support. It's a crowded area in front of goal and Wolfsburg make the right blocks to clear that one away.
40'

BIG, BIG CHANCE!

Hoffenheim finally get themselves in on goal but can't take the chance. Lovely interplay as Dabbur finds Baumgartner and his flick sends Belfodil into the Wolfsburg box. He clips the ball across goal from left to right, but has to watch it bounce agonisingly wide of goal.
35'

ARNOLD IN THE WARS

The Wolfsburg man has taken a blow to the head in an aerial challenge with Samassekou. He's going to have to wear a battle wound in the form of a bandage around his head for the rest of this game.
35'

PULLING NO PUNCHES

Hoffenheim are battling hard here so far, but seem to still be one step behind Wolfsburg.

ARNOLD STRIKES ONE!

A rare bit of space afforded to the midfielder who needs no second invitation to smack a long-range shot at goal. This one is drifting towards the left top corner, but Baumann watches it safely divert past his goal.

ALL GOING WOLFSBURG'S WAY

The home side have done everything right so far. No chances to speak of around their goal, while they have taken their chances on goal at the other end.
26'

WEGHORST DOUBLES THE LEAD!

Wolfsburg make their pressure pay with a second. Schlager sends Steffen behind the Hoffenheim defence and his shot is saved by Baumann. Weghorst has a go with the rebound but sees it blocked by Akpoguma. The ball rolls back to Steffen though, who finds Weghorst to his right and beyond Baumann's reach, importantly, and the Dutchman buries it at the second time of asking with the angle opened up.

HOFFENHEIM STRUGGLES

The away side are having problems in getting the ball into the Wolfsburg half and then keeping it. Wolfsburg's pressing has been fantastic early on here, forcing Hoffenheim into playing long balls to get out of their own half. Glasner will be very happy with this start.
21'

BROOKS SHAKEN OFF HIS KNOCK

The German-born American international looks fine now after his earlier knock. No need for USMNT fans to worry.
17'

A KNOCK FOR SCHLAGER

The Austrian is just off the pitch for a moment after taking a knock to the face in a challenge with Sessegnon.
13'

FIRST GO AT GOAL

Hoffenheim's press wins the ball back in the Wolfsburg half and it's Baumgartner who swings in a cross from the right. Dabbur is on the end of it in the middle, but his glancing header bounces wide across goal.
12'

WOLFSBURG OUT OF THE BLOCKS QUCIKLY

It's been a bright start from the hosts with Steffen's goal giving them an early lead. Hoffenheim have had very few touches in the hosts' half.

BIG CHANCE FOR WEGHORST!

Wolfsburg break again with a through ball from Schlager sending Philipp in behind. He plays the ball into the box with Weghorst waiting, but he can't connect properly with the ball in front of goal. The offside flag does go up to save his blushes slightly, with Philipp straying offside.
8'

BROOKS HAS TAKEN A KNOCK

The USMNT is back on the pitch having taken a knock to his left leg. He's still limping slightly, so time will tell whether he can continue here.
5'

STEFFEN OPENS THE SCORING!

Wolfsburg have the ball in the net after a lovely counter and a check with Video-Assist confirms the goal. Brekalo finds Philipp, who sends Steffen in behind and he slots the ball home across Baumann from the left and on his favoured left.

BIG EARLY CHANCE!

What a pass from Arnold, who spots Roussillon in space on the left and he breaches the Hoffenheim penalty area. He spots Brekalo in space behind him and lays the ball off for his shot, which is only kept out by Vogt on the line with Baumann beaten.
2'

NO SURPRISES

Both sides lining up as we expected here early on. Hoffenheim staying with a three-man defence with Bogarde on the right side of that, while Philipp is playing as the No.1 behind Weghorst in Wolfsburg's attack.

IT'S ALMOST TIME!

Warm-ups are almost done here in Wolfsburg and kick-off is coming up next...

HOFFENHEIM TEAM NEWS

There are two new ones in the Hoffenheim starting line-up today. Among other things, Melayro Bogarde earns not just his first start but his first appearance in the Bundesliga this season. The Dutchman has made one previous league appearance, but was replaced at the break in Mainz at the end of May of the 2019/20 season.

WOLFSBURG TEAM NEWS

Maxi Arnold was still missing last week and is now back in the starting line-up as expected in Oliver Glasner's only change to his starting squad. In his last outing against Bielefeld, Arnold was the Man of the Match as he scored and assisted in a 2-1 win.

WEGHORST FUN TODAY?

In four games against Hoffenheim, the Dutch forward has scored five goals and provided two assists. He scored a hat-trick last season as Wolfsburg claimed an away win against today's opponents, but can he score at home?

HOSTS HUNTING PAYBACK

Hoffenheim pipped Wolfsburg to automatic Europa League qualification on the final day of last season, beating Borussia Dortmund 4-0 thanks to Kramaric's four-goal haul - which included a no-look penalty. The away side are without their six-goal top scorer today though with Hoeneß not risking the Croatian before the international break.

WOLVES BITING HARD

Wolfsburg have only lost one of their last eight Bundesliga meetings with Hoffenheim. The Sinsheimers have not come away with all three points from the Volkswagen Arena since February 2012, when Roberto Firmino - now of Liverpool - helped them to a 2-1 win. The Wolves are undefeated after six games this season - a club joint-record at this stage of the season - but five of those have been draws.
