Greuther Fürth 1-1 Schalke Goals: 1-0  Srbeny 12’, 1-1 Ljubičić 75’

Dejan Ljubicic rescued leaders Schalke a point away to struggling Greuther Fürth. The home side scored against the run of play through Dennis Srbeny's composed finish into the corner with just 12 minutes gone. Schalke proceeded to spurn several inviting opportunities, before Ljubicic finally hammered home an eye-catching 75th-minute leveller. The Royal Blues pushed hard for a winner, but the battling Clover Leaves held firm for a point.

Hertha Berlin 2-1 Nuremberg
Goals: 1-0 Brekalo 20‘, 1-1 Baack 45‘+1, 2-1 Brekalo 88‘

Hertha halted their run of two consecutive defeats with a hard-fought victory over Nuremberg on Matchday 24. The Old Lady dominated throughout, taking an early lead thanks to Josip Brekalo. However, with Nuremberg’s first shot of the game, an unmarked Tom Baack headed home to bring his side level at the break. Hertha were not deterred by this set-back, however, reasserting themselves after the restart before Brekalo grabbed the winner late on with his third goal in two games for the Berliners, whose promotion push is kept alive.

Eintracht Braunschweig 1-2 Preußen Münster
Goals: 1-0 Frenkert 56‘, 1-1 Hendrix 71‘, 1-2 Batista Meier 75‘
Sent off: Jaeckel 88‘

Preußen came from behind to down Braunschweig away from home in a huge relegation clash. After a goalless first 45, Lukas Frenkert provided Eintracht with the lead after the restart, heading home from a corner before Jorrit Hendrix restored parity for the visitors. Minutes later, a stunning Oliver Batista Meier free-kick then put Preußen on the path to victory and, despite Paul Jaeckel being shown a second yellow card late on, Münster held on to claim the three points, which allows them to climb out of the bottom three and into 13th, whilst Braunschweig slip into the play-off spot.

Holstein Kiel 1-1 Elversberg
Goals: 0-1 Mokwa 61’, 1-1 Therkelsen 63’

Tim Walter’s second debut in charge of Kiel brought a point as the Storks arrested their slump of four straight losses, although they remain without a win in six. The hosts had arguably the better of the limited early chances but fell behind on the hour when David Mokwa slid in at the far post for Elversberg. The lead lasted barely two minutes, though, until Jonas Therkelsen levelled proceedings, denying the visitors the chance to take top spot in the table.

Magdeburg 1-3 KarlsruheGoals: 0-1 Ben Farhat 20’, 0-2 Ben Farhat 53’, 1-2 Stalmach 66’, 1-3 Wanitzek 87’

Karlsruhe put in a clinical away performance against Magdeburg to leapfrog Nuremberg into eighth, while Magdeburg missed their opportunity to collect a huge three points and jump out of the drop zone. The hosts were bright throughout, regularly testing the Karlsruhe backline, but it was Karlsruhe who struck first through Louey Ben Farhat. His second goal got his side off to the perfect start in the second half, and piled the pressure on Magdeburg. Dariusz Stalmach eventually pulled a goal back with just under 25 minutes to go, but Marvin Wanitzek put to bed any hopes of a comeback with a late goal from close range.

Kaiserslautern 1-2 Paderborn
Goals: 1-0 Brackelmann 45+7’, 2-0 Bilbija 90+5’ (pen), 2-1 Redondo 90+8'

Paderborn took another big step forward in their push for promotion after defeating Kaiserslautern away from home. The game exploded into life at the end of the first half, when Calvin Brackelmann hammered a free-kick into the top corner of the net for the visitors. Paderborn added a second goal late on, when Filip Bilbija converted from the penalty spot. Kenny Prince Redondo scored a late consolation for Kaiserslautern, who lost further ground to their rivals in the race for promotion.

Arminia Bielefeld 0-1 Hannover
Goals: 1-0 Leopold 63’ (pen)

Hannover edged a close encounter at the SchücoArena thanks to a second-half penalty from captain Enzo Leopold. Arminia created plenty of good chances to score, but were largely wasteful in front of goal, allowing Hannover to see out the win under intense pressure in the closing stages. The win keeps Christian Titz’s men in fifth place, while Arminia are still in danger only two points outside the relegation zone.

Fortuna Düsseldorf 2-1 Bochum
Goals: 1-0 Itten 45’, 2-0 Muslija 57’, 2-1 Alfa-Ruprecht 79’

Düsseldorf gave themselves a healthier buffer above the drop zone thanks to a well-earned victory over former head coach Uwe Rösler’s mid-table Bochum. Their first-half dominance looked to be going unrewarded until Cedric Itten broke the deadlock on 45 minutes. Florent Muslija gave the hosts daylight just short of the hour, but Bochum refused to throw in the towel as substitute Farid Alfa-Ruprecht halved the deficit with 11 minutes remaining. However, the visitors fell short of finding an equaliser as their impressive 10-match unbeaten run was ended.

Dynamo Dresden 3-1 Darmstadt
Goals: 1-0
Vermeij 45’, 2-0 Vermeij 45’+2, 2-0 Daferner 81’, 3-0 Furukawa 90'
Sent off: Pfeiffer 42’, Lemmer 53’

Dresden gave their chances of beating the drop a boost with an impressive win over promotion-chasing Darmstadt. The contest turned when Darmstadt defender Patric Pfeiffer with 42 minutes gone. Dynamo took full advantage of their man advantage as Vincent Vermeij scored twice on the stroke of half-time, only for Jakob Lemmer’s double booking soon after the restart to even the playing field once again. However, it was Dresden who added the gloss through substitute Christoph Daferner to put the seal on a win that takes them clear of the bottom three.
