EINTRACHT-STADION

Taisei Abe ruled out

The 22-year-old midfielder will undergo surgery due to a persistent back injury and will therefore be unavailable for Holstein Kiel for the time being.

Walter's dream opponent

Tim Walter has faced Braunschweig five times before as a manager, claiming victory in all five games - four whilst in charge of Hamburg, and one for Kiel.

History to be made?

In Bundesliga 2, the Lions have only won one game at home against Kiel, with that victory coming 46 years ago. On the opening day of the 1980/81 campaign, Braunschweig ran out 2-0 winners against the Storks. Incidentally, that win set the tone for a campaign in which the Lions earned top-flight promotion.
