Next stop, Bundesliga!

Günther releases Conté, who squares for Mokwa to stroke home from close range. Very tidy goal and surely job done for Elversberg!

Elversberg have been clinical. Relegated Münster have barely threatened.

More good news

Hannover, who started the day in third - have fallen behind to Nuremberg. The Reds are now fourth, with Paderborn in the play-off position and Elversberg on course for automatic promotion as runners-up.

The goalscorers celebrate

Two shots, two goals. Wagner could not have asked for more from his side in the first 15 minutes.

Quick-fire double!

Home fans inside the Kaiserlinde are still celebrating the opener when Mokwa completely misses a cross into the danger zone. Günther keeps it alive to give him a second bite of the cherry, though, and the forward duly arrows a shot into the bottom corner. Talk about perfect start!

Ice-cold and just what the doctor ordered in Elversberg! Following a short corner, Poręba slips in Zimmerschied, who lays it off for Conté to slam past Schenk from close range. As things stand, they're going up!

Denied

Gyamerah does really well to stop a Kristof cross from finding its man. Very nervy moment for the hosts!

Goal in Paderborn!

Paderborn have taken the lead in Darmstadt. They're now second in the live table, with Elversberg - who are still finding their feet here - slipping into the play-off spot.

Under way!

Massive game for Elversberg - will they get the job done and seal a maiden promotion to the big time?
Kick-off!

Party atmosphere

As quite a lot of confetti from the away end has landed in the penalty area of Preußen goalkeeper Schenk, kick-off is delayed by a few moments.

Second chance for Elversberg

Although Elversberg lost 3-1 in Düsseldorf on the last matchday, Vincent Wanger's side go into the final day of the season in the best position of all promotion contenders. Crucially, their goal difference of +22 is by far the best among the three candidates for the second automatic promotion spot (Hannover +16, Paderborn +12). A home win against Münster should be enough to seal promotion for Elversberg, and only a huge win for Hannover could threaten that.

More on that Münster team

Preußen make five changes to their starting XI, with four players forced out - the suspended trio of Jorrit Hendrix, Jannis Heuer and Torge Paetow, along with the injured Marvin Schulz. Jano ter Horst (pictured) returns to the side after completing his suspension.
camera-photo

More on that Elversberg team

Captain Lukas Pinckert, who was only used as a substitute in the last match at Düsseldorf due to a knock, returns to the starting XI today, while long-term injury absentee Bambasé Conté (pictured) starts for the first time in two months (a 3-1 win over Bielefeld in March).

Vincent Wagner on facing Münster

"We deserve to be in contention [for promotion] and we're looking forward to the game. Nothing's handed to you on a plate in this league. If we want to get promoted, we need to put in the work. We need to play our own game, which we've managed often enough this season."

Alois Schwartz on facing Elversberg

"We owe it to our fans to give our all one final time. I haven't been here very long, but I'd like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude. It's a great shame that we weren't able to preserve our top-flight status."

Promotion race going down to the wire

Elversberg, Hannover and Paderborn are all level on points going into the final matchday of the Bundesliga 2 season. Who will grab automatic promotion, who'll reach the play-offs and who will miss out?

Schwartz's smart track record

Alois Schwartz has won his last three matches against Elversberg and has not lost any of his last nine matches against them, with five wins and four draws overall.

Long barren run against Münster

Elversberg last beat Münster 16 years ago (1-0 away in April 2010 in the regional leagues). Their only home win against Sunday's opponents came back in November 2008, when a certain Roger Schmidt was the Münster coach.

Preußen's proud record

Münster have never lost to Elversberg in Bundesliga 2 (taking two 1-1 draws at home along with a 1-0 away win last season) and are unbeaten against Elversberg in seven competitive matches (with four wins and three draws).
