Full-time: Kaiserslautern 2-0 Arminia Bielefeld

Kaiserslautern deservedly beat Arminia Bielefeld. While the latter squandered several good chances, particularly in the first half, they also lacked the necessary cutting edge after the break to turn the match around. For Bielefeld, the defeat represents a further setback in an already fraught relegation battle, while Kaiserslautern rounded off their home campaign with a victory.

Hofmeister with the huge chance!

Hofmeister receives the ball in the penalty area and shoots, but Kersken is on hand and clears the ball off the line. Great save!

Not enough power

After a cross from Lannert, Uldrikis gets a head to the ball, but his effort lacks power.
90'
+ 4

Good positioning

After a long ball into the opposition's half, Grodowski gets on the ball, but his shot is blocked for a corner, which comes to nothing.
90'

All out attack

Bielefeld are now throwing everything forward. However, they lack cutting edge and Kaiserslautern have no trouble defending their goal.

The final minutes

Can Bielefeld find something special? At the moment, it does not look that way.
89'

Yellow card

Mael Corboz fouls an opponent in his own penalty area and receives a yellow card.
87'

Double substitution for Kaiserslautern

Wekesser and Hanslik leave the pitch and are replaced by Prince Redondo and Kleinhansl.
83'

Double substitution

Telalović and Sarenren Bazee replace Momuluh and Rochelt.
80'

Yellow card

Asta also holds back his opponent and receives a yellow card for it.
79'

There was more in that

After a free-kick is initially cleared, the ball falls to Knoche a little less than 20 yards from goal. He shoots first time, but does not connect with the ball properly, causing the shot to trickle wide of the right post.
78'

Substitution for Kaiserslautern

Starting XI debutant Schramm leaves the pitch and is replaced by Hofmeister.
76'

Yellow

Wekesser holds back Hagmann and is shown the yellow card as a result.
74'

Yellow card

Sirch steps on Uldrikis' foot and is booked. That was the fifth yellow card for the centre-back this season, and he is therefore suspended for the final matchday.
73'

Too little going forward

Bielefeld are lacking ideas. They do have both more shots on goal and more possession here, but clear-cut chances have so far been absent in the second half.
68'

Shot too weak

After a switch of play to the left, Wekesser receives the ball, drives into the penalty area and shoots towards the far corner. Kersken, though, is well positioned and has no trouble dealing with it.
66'

Substitutions for both teams

While Kaiserslautern are looking to hold on to their lead, Bielefeld will try to take at least a point with their two fresh legs.
64'

Chance missed

Similar to the supposed 3-0, Schramm once again plays the ball through to Bassette, who slips when receiving it and is therefore unable to bring it under control.
58'

Yellow card

Bassette took off his shirt after the supposed goal and was shown a yellow for doing so.
57'

The goal doesn't stand!

Rochelt loses the ball to Schramm, who moves forward and plays a perfect through ball to Bassette. He keeps his composure in front of goal and slots in, but the flag goes up and the goal is chalked off.
56'

Too high

Wörl receives the ball on the edge of the box, shifts it onto his right foot and aims for the far corner. The ball, though, flies a good metre over the bar.
50'

Kersken is there

Asta simply lets fly from around 30 yards in a central position. His powerful shot lacks precision, however, and the chance goes begging.
49'

Well spotted

After the ball bounces through the hosts' penalty area, the away side claim to have seen a Kaiserslautern player handle the ball. The referee, though, waves play on.

Kick-off

Half-time: Kaiserslautern 2-0 Bielefeld

And that's the whistle for half-time. The hosts have been extremely clinical and lead by two goals against relegation-threatened Bielefeld. The visitors did have quite a few chances to get on the scoresheet, but Krahl has kept them out valiantly so far. It promises to be an exciting second half!

45'

Aerial dominance

Following a foul by Sirch on Momuluh, Bielefeld have another free-kick. However, Handwerker's set-piece is headed clear from the danger zone.
42'

Lacking precision

Arminia continue to work on reducing the deficit. After several corners, Hagmann volleys towards goal from a failed clearance, yet his shot goes well wide of the right post.
39'

Free-kick Bielefeld

After Rasmussen catches Uldrikis with an elbow to the head, Bielefeld are awarded a free-kick in a central position. The set-piece, though, comes to nothing and fizzles out.
37'

Bielefeld looking for a goal back

Once more, Momuluh gets down the right and plays the ball low into the middle. Uldrikis again gets there first and directs the ball towards the near post, but Krahl intervenes.
35'

He has to hit the target!

Rochelt receives the ball down the left and crosses it into the centre, where Uldrikis rises high and heads the ball well wide of the goal from a promising position.
32'

Yellow card

Ritter protests vehemently after the linesman ruled that the ball had already gone out of play before he brought it under control.
camera-photo

Goooooooooaal!

Brilliant efficiency! Ritter receives the ball just outside the penalty area and plays it through to Asta, who keeps his composure in front of goal and slots into the far corner with his right foot. Kaiserslautern are now in total control.

Kick-off!

Jara stands in for Kniat

Daniel Jara is in charge today in place of the red-card suspended Mitch Kniat. The 37-year-old Spaniard had already served as Kniat's assistant at Paderborn II and in Verl, and in February 2025, he also took the reins for a single match. On that occasion, Kniat was suspended when Bielefeld were in the 3. Liga, and Jara led the team to a 3-0 away at 1860 Munich.

Starting XI debut for Schramm

Schramm featured for the first time with the professionals last week in Dresden, coming off the bench to make his debut as a substitute. Today, the 19-year-old gets to start. The Trier-born player normally plays for Kaiserslautern's second side.

Fresh chance for Hanslik

Hanslik is in the starting line-up for the first time since early February. Back then, on Matchday 21, he even led the Red Devils onto the pitch as captain in the 4-0 defeat at Darmstadt.

Kaiserslautern team news

Lieberknecht has to do without the suspended Kunze and Joly, while Şahin is not in the squad either. In addition, Berisha drops to the bench, with Wekesser, Hanslik, Bassette and Schramm coming into the side.

Bielefeld team news

Striker Grodowski is on the bench, with Wörl coming into the side in his place. Wörl could play in midfield, with Rochelt taking over Grodowski's role on the left flank, though Wörl has also played as a winger before.

Mitch Kniat on facing Kaiserslautern

"It is relatively difficult to prepare for Kaiserslautern, because they tend to adjust things more often. They can press man-orientated, but they can also sit very deep, like they did against us in the reverse fixture. We have to prepare for a lot of things and still you cannot foresee every situation. But Münster also played differently against us than expected. In that case we also need to have a different plan ready."

The Officials

Tobias Welz (Referee), Dr. Martin Thomsen (Assistant Referee 1), Dominik Jolk (Assistant Referee 2), Patrick Schwengers (4th Official), Katrin Rafalski (VAR), Arno Blos (VAR Assistant).

Torsten Lieberknecht on facing Bielefeld:

"We know that we have suffered three consecutive defeats. That is more than unpleasant. Especially in the last home match in front of this crowd, we want to give everything we have in us and be able to say that we tried everything. It is about showing character."
