Full-time: Braunschweig 3-2 Fürth

Fürth tried everything in the second half, keeping the pressure immensely high for 45 minutes. However, the Cloverleaves were repeatedly imprecise with their finishing. That was until substitute Srbeny crossed to target man Higl, who headed in strongly for the deserved equaliser. Braunschweig were only occupied with defending in the second 45 minutes, barely managing to relieve the pressure - but they were still rewarded in the sixth minute of stoppage time as Consbruch brought down Polter in the penalty area. The substitute then stepped up himself and scored to seal the win.

The fourth is ruled out

From the free-kick, Eintract counter superbly. Hoffmann throws the ball out to Kaufmann. He doesn't shoot into the empty net, but instead sends Di Michele Sanchez through, who tucks the ball home. The goal is initially given, but then overturned as the referee rules out the goal and blows the full-time whistle in the same moment.

Who will follow up?

Braunschweig against Fürth is the only match between two opening-day winners this weekend. Eintracht last started Bundesliga 2 with two victories in 2016/17, while the Cloverleaves last managed this in 2013/14.

Milestone for Klaus

Felix Klaus is playing his 200th match in Bundesliga 2, making his 55th appearance in the Fürth shirt (115 matches for Düsseldorf and 30 for Hannover).

One change for the visitors

For the visitors, Luca Itter starts on the left side instead of Reno Münz.

Breunig for Ehlers

The only change for BTSV after the opening win in Magdeburg is no surprise: Louis Breunig moves into the starting eleven for the suspended Kevin Ehlers, who received a red card.

Heiner Backhaus on facing Fürth

"I expect an opponent playing with plenty of pride. They are a team that stood out last season with their great set-piece strength. They scored 21 goals from those so it's a massive weapon of theirs. It's a big challenge that we have to solve. But we're playing at home and we're incredibly excited about our fans. For me, that will also be a first as Eintracht coach. It's about developing a feeling that must be characterised by emotions in the game."
camera-photo

Thomas Kleine on facing Eintracht

"The team is very focused. We are prepared, working very concentratedly to travel to Braunschweig with three points in the bag and a good feeling. The Braunschweig manager is about playing high pressing, so we expect a team that wants to put us under pressure. It's about finding solutions with the ball, standing very compact and making it difficult for the opponent to create chances."

Tribute to Braunschweig legend planned

There will be a minute's silence before kick-off for former Eintracht player and 1966/67 Bundesliga winner, Peter Kaack, who passed away last week. The Braunschweig players will also wear black armbands in tribute.

Green's great run

Fürth kept a clean sheet in half of the 24 second division matches against Eintracht

Eintracht in Franconia

Braunschweig's last victory against Fürth was a 2-0 home win in September 2024 (Rayan Philippe scoring a brace). The Cloverleaves had won all three of their previous away matches at BTSV without conceding a goal.
