Wild scuffle

75'

Booking for the striker

That hurt! Prtajin tries to chip the ball over the onrushing Hofmann, but catches the keeper on the shin. Striker's foul and yellow card.
73'

Corner Lautern

Taken by Raschl and immediately cleared by Frenkert, no danger again.
71'

Good quarter of an hour left

Kaiserslautern have not been more lively in the second half, as they'd have hoped. If they want to take a point here, they need to score soon.
68'

No goal threat

Lautern have scored only half as many goals away from home (eight) as they have at home at the Betze (16).
66'

Changes abound

Sidi Sané comes on for Conteh in the Eintracht attack. Additionally, Tachie, Raschl and Kleinhansl get their chance to try their luck in this match.
65'

Another shot

Braunschweig are working towards what would surely be the decider. Bell Bell meets a second ball with a half volley, but it goes well over the bar.
63'

Beautiful effort

It's almost the 3-0. Maries' long-range effort for Braunschweig goes just wide of the right post.

We're off again

Kaiserslautern swap Hanslik for Elvedi, making their play more offensively oriented. That seems logical, as they need to get back into the match.

Half-time Braunschweig 1-0 Kaiserslautern

The 1-0 lead for the home side is deserved so far. The visitors haven't really got into the match yet, simply not doing enough in attack. Eintracht's match plan is working perfectly up to this point.

+ 9

Conteh opportunity

Conteh gets the second ball after a Heußer free-kick and strikes it directly with a volley. The ball dips beautifully, but Krahl makes an equally beautiful dive and tips the ball over the crossbar.

It's Bell Bell again, this time nutmegging Elvedi and driving to the outside. His effortfrom a tight angle is powerful. Krahl punches it directly to Conteh's feet, and he then shoots well over the bar.

xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals > xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals > goals).
The visitors side are creating few to no chances, as their xGoals indicate. Braunschweig have had several half-chances, so the lead is justified up to this point.

Braunschweig again

This time Bell Bell catches the Lautern defence off guard with his pace. However, he hesitates too long, deciding whether to shoot or pass. What results is a weak finish which Krahl nonetheless has trouble dealing with.

Marie's home comfort

That's only Marie's second goal in his 32nd second division match. He scored his first on Matchday 9 in the away win in Düsseldorf.

Braunschweig lead

Hofmann plays quick pass ans the ball reaches Conteh, who makes ground and then simply lays it off to the penalty spot, where Marie is perfectly positioned and slots it home.

Ritter makes the switch to Prtajin, who cuts inside and shoots just over the bar from a central position. Not a bad attempt.

Bell Bell booking

Bell Bell is not happy with the throw-in decision from the referee and complains a bit too much.
26'

Abiama looks for Skyttä

The starting XI debutant is quite active and sends a cross to the striker at the far post. However, Skyttä doesn't jump high enough and fails to connect.
23'

Best chance so far

Conteh dribbles through the Lautern penalty area to the byline and lays it off towards the penalty spot, where Flick comes rushing in and shoots directly towards the bottom left corner. Krahl is beaten, but Bell Bell gets in the way to prevent an opener for his own team.
20'

Skyttä shot

Abiama marches forward again and lays it off to the left to Skyttä. Last week's hat-trick hero shoots with power. The effort is too central, allowing Hofmann to catch it.
17'

Abiama has a go

Abiama moves forward and tries his luck from outside the box. He connects poorly with the ball and a defender mops up.

Few chances

Neither team has impressed in the opening quarter of an hour while there haven't been any significant chances so far.

Braunschweig's strength

The Red Devils are immediately shown that it's going to be uncomfortable in Braunschweig. Many smaller fouls are accumulating, which disrupt the attacks of the Palatinate side. Haas was recently fouled with a bodycheck on the touchline.
7'

Nkoa with the intervention

Ritter bursts through on the right and is in a good position to shoot, before Nkoa clears with a sliding tackle in the penalty area. However, the corner comes to nothing.

Abiama's premiere

Abiama has been brought on seven times in 2025/26 so far, but now gets to show what he can do from the start. He last featured in Kaiserslautern's starting XI over a year ago (September 2024), though he was loaned to third-division side 1860 Munich during the second half of last season, gaining plenty of playing time as a result.

Four changes for Braunschweig

Heiner Backhaus brings in four fresh legs. Erencan Yardımcı returns after a three-match suspension due to a red card, and Max Marie, Robin Heußer and Johan Gómez are also new to the team. They replace Sven Köhler (5th yellow card), Sidi Sané, Mehmet Aydin and Fabio Di Michele Sanchez (all on the bench).
camera-photo

Kaiserslautern make two changes

The visitors must replace two key players; centre-back Maxwell Gyamfi is suspended, while right winger Paul Joly is injured. Jan Elvedi (starting for the first time since Matchday 9) and Dickson Abiama take their places in the starting eleven.

Torsten Lieberknecht on facing Braunschweig

"For me, it's a lovely homecoming to Braunschweig. I've already had the pleasure of experiencing this twice. My time there shaped me, so it's something special to return there, but we also have a job to do there. They need the points - it'll be tough."

Another hat-trick?

Marlon Ritter has only scored more than once in one of his 128 Bundesliga 2 matches, netting a hat-trick on 19 May 2024 in the 5-0 home victory against Braunschweig.

Lieberknecht with BTSV history

Torsten Lieberknecht spent 15 years at BTSV, first as a player, then as U-19 coach and from May 2008 as first-team manager for ten years. He led Braunschweig from the 3rd division up to the Bundesliga. These two promotions were followed by two relegations and a tearful end in 2018 for the man who was the face of the club for years. Against his former club, he has collected ten points in four matches as a manager.
camera-photo

Another home win?

Eintracht have celebrated three victories in their last three home matches against FCK and are unbeaten at home against the Palatinate side in their last five matches (FCK's last away win: 4-1 in September 2018 in the 3rd division).

Traditional rivalry:

Braunschweig and Kaiserslautern are former German champions and founding members of the Bundesliga, playing 20 years together in the top flight. However, their last Bundesliga encounter was over 40 years ago (2-1 home victory for BTSV on 3 May 1985).
