William Mikelbrencis joined Hamburg from Metz on deadline day. The France U18 right-back has signed a four-year deal. "William caught our eye last season, when he made a splash in Ligue 1. He'll need some time to settle in, but we expect him to play a part this season - not just in the future," explained HSV board member Jonas Bold.

"We have been more successful away from home so far, but we want to replicate that at home," said HSV coach Tim Walter, whose team have won one and lost two at the Volksparkstadion this term.
